ALWAYS use a VPN folks... Or release stuf anonymously in public on a public computer/Wi-Fi. Don't be dumb... Hell, even dropping physical copies on USB around different cities is better than uploading without some kind of basic protection like a VPN...

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

when they can make an example of someone who so openly gives them a point of attack (google will halfway identify him, most isps will do the rest), they will use it.
and they'd likely want to know where he get it so they can fry whoever broke the streetdate. like they did with that old couples place that one time
My Walmart sold me Kirby on Switch a few days early. It was amazing.

Use a VPN for downloading only. You can still be caught but if all you’re doing is downloading a game for personal use then it’s not worth tracking you down. Leave uploading to the pros.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

He was free from every debt he had at the time he had filed the personal bankruptcy:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_bankruptcy

Had a friend who did the same. He had a small IT corporation and managed to fuck up the IT of some middle-sized business firm by accidentaly deleting all backups for the past 2 years, while wrecking up their prod systems. Had to provide a compensation of almost 900.000 €. I had a great laugh I have to admit.
Anyway, 3 years after he had filed a personal bankruptcy, he was free of any debt. He used this 3 years to acquire his second master degree (which is almost free of charge here in Germany), so it wasn't a big deal for him.
Wow. Maybe I’ll upload a game and spend a few extra years in school. [joke]

So long story short, this guy sold his copy of Pokemon to Kaphotics, who is not planning to leak it early, so rip early release dreams.

He should have given it to Billy, from Kuala Lampur....or anyone who had actual plans of doing what was hoped for (by the masses).

Pretty sure Kaphotics has views about piracy that lean toward, "No."

Sad story, bros.

strange no one leaked the copy to the public early, only 4 days before the actual date is not really thrilling :(

Kaphotics is the best to datamine things, it's good to know that Kaphotics have hand on the game and not a random child somewhere...

Don't be so negative.

"Negative". Lol, you've been 2018'd.

I'm pretty sure Kaphotics had the opportunity to play with US/UM early, yet chose not to. Regardless of the ability to datamine, the will to spread the info early does not exist.

Truly, the best outcome for this would have been: contact a prolific member of a warez site, have them pay for next-day mail, have them dump the game, give the dump to Kaphotics.

If the future had gone this way, you'd probably still get the datamine info around the same time.

Ultimately, cats are going to shit, people will get drunk, the sun will come out, and everything is pretty much the same.

Do you think if the game was out people would give a shit about his datamines ?
Yes, because it provides useful information for stats, and to create mods, which you would use to optimize and/or change your actual game play.

I don't see the point of spoiling myself with datamined stuff before the game is even out. Once the game is out there'll be a bunch of others who'll do it.

cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb
    +1
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding

When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
and nvidia is already doing ARM
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think they want to take more focus away from their gpus
