I've got a switch that my son spilled some bubble solution on the bottom left side, near the left joycon contacts and on the screen. He cleaned it up and then didn't tell us until two days later he complained about the left joycon not working in handheld mode any longer.

So my conundrum is it's under warranty for another 2 weeks. It has been online in it's life before hacks, but I blocked it in my firewall and then forced it to use my ps4exploit self host proxy, this way i can still access it internally, but it never goes online anymore. I did tons of research and went with the method of booting rcm with a jig, making a full backup, then installing briccmii to make it autorcm, I then used another rajkosto tool choidujour to update to 5.1 as i recall. I've continued to leave it offline. I've checked and my efuse level is intact. If I now restore the backup and reverse briccmii and remove my SDCard, N is none the wiser correct? They may upgrade the firmware and blow my efuses but it looks like it hardly matters at this point, everything seems to work fine on 6.1 anyway.

Has anyone been in a similar situation and successfully had a repair done even though the console had been hacked before sending it in?
I'm looking to try to clean the board myself with >90% isopropyl alcohol, I'm curious about the water damage tag inside too, it doesn't look like N can even tell if I've opened it either. If something is shorted though sending it in might be for the best, as I don't have the right gear to troubleshoot or repair any logic board problems.

If you send it to Nintendo like I did, they will evaluate it and they will tell you if it is under warranty or not. If it is not under warranty they will tell you the price it will cost to repair it. You do not have to send your switch, only the joycon.

Except it isn't the joycon it's the left side that doesn't charge any joycon, we've got 3 left joycons and it won't charge any of them, so it's clearly a board issue of some sort.
My real question is has anyone reversed the hacks and sent the console in for repair?

Nintendo doesn't cover liquid damage, so sending it in will result in either then telling you pay $$ to fix, or they somehow won't notice (super unlikely) and send you an ipatched unit. A loss loss situation for you. Maybe look into repair options local to you.

Well I took it apart and found that the water damage tag was intact, so i'm thinking it may have just screwed up the rail, though it might have shorted something. I see left rails are for sale for less than $20, it might be worth giving it a shot. I'm really reluctant to return it to stock, I guess I just let my son know it's no longer a handheld. lol. Maybe he'll be more careful next time.
