Hello. Please read everything before replying me!
I have an psp 2000 slim ta-086v3 motherboard and also non working umd. It was 6.20 cfw so i decided to upgrade it to 6.61 ofw and then flash it with pro-c. When I was updating to 6.61 ofw it comes to %99 and bounces to %84 and repeats this over again and again. So i decided to remove battery. I removed it and then putted it back. And boom. Waving animation and nothing (its semi brick). so i searched at forums etc. and then booting it with START + SELECT + TRIANGLE + CIRCLE and then boots up and intial setup. I did it and then I've had access to XMB. And tried to install pro-c fast recovery and boom! i have access to Recovery Menu!!! Okay so i restarted the psp and its still semi-brick. Only works if i use the combo when booting. Also i have a copy of flash0. That flash has 6.61 version.
I'll be so happy if someone helps me!
Also i have unlimited time so if someone helps me today ima be happy : )

Hi,

Can you check if you can see the "UMD-reading" icon on the lower right corner of the screen? If yes, then the freezing issue is caused by the broken UMD drive.

You can either open the door when booting until you see the XMB or use a plugin that disables the UMD drive.

There's an option in the recovery menu, something along the lines of boot recovery file and the directory from which the file will be loaded. Pure speculation as I've never had the need to recover my device and never done this, but wouldn't putting the update title inside the directory listed on the option and running said option boot the update file and allow you to recover your psp??

Did you do what I've posted? Did you checked your PSP if there is a UMD-reading icon on the lower right portion of the screen when you boot it up?

I'm positive that your problem is caused by the UMD drive. Use the plugin linked here to disable the drive.

Good luck and I hope you'll fix your PSP.
