So, let's say i have sx os with no emunand. If turn off the console and boot into original firmware and connect to internet to check updates of my original games, do i risk ban?
In that case do you suggest to update firmware without burning fuses?

How does the updating process works with SX? Are emunand and nand updated at different? Like you have to update them separately or can I just use ChoiDujourNX? Also is the AutoRCM in SX safe or riskier for ban?(atm im not using autorcm)

Yes, it is possible to do that. Read the last 10 or so ban reports to get an idea of what it takes to avoid a ban.

Ok so I have a switch that I hacked like 4 months ago (already have a ban report) and I have not been banned. I decided to back up my nand 3 days ago and boot cfw after doing that. The switch crashed and booted me back to OFW. I played online for a day, and have now gone offline and am using layeredFS and am planning to restore my nand once I’m finished with odyssey mods. As of now I’m not banned. Does this sound good as in I won’t get banned when restoring my nand?

I mean if the NAND isn't completely clean, then there is always a chance it can get banned. But if you've been lucky enough to stave off a ban so far, your luck just may continue.

Updating the SX software is a simple copy/replace on the SD card.
I believe the SX dongle can be updated, but I also believe that there haven't been (and may never be) any updates for it.

I don't mess with the emuNAND/NAND stuff, and update via fuse burning as normal, so I can't comment on any of that.

As far as AutoRCM goes, I prefer to keep things in my device as stock as possible to try and avoid a ban.
In this way, by removing my SD and dongle, there is very little trace of my CFW left outside of the recently played games on my home screen (and those could have just as easily come from cartridges).
Of course to keep up with this appearance, I do not use my Nintendo ID linked account in CFW, as doing so records the play history in CFW to said account.

Did you use the same account to play on both CFW and OFW?

This could only mean bad news!

I have an early untouched revision sitting in my cupboard waiting for my sx os to arrive. I'm gonna use your report as a template for my own setup, which is going to be simple without any other tools installed basically.

I appreciate the confidence in the steps I took, but please don't fault me if somethings happens lol.

It's important to note that I have not done anything to receive any error codes, which could be paramount as SX OS doesn't have any setup for eclct disabling or creport handling.
1 reported suspicious error could be all it takes.

I believe crashes (and thus error reports) will be more common if you use LayeredFS or a lot of homebrew, which I have avoided (so far), though I have safely used a save manager without any issues in this regard.

Either way, ban just for homebrew is pretty scary!
Let's say that to launch a homebrew, what should we do?
Can we launch a homebrew without breaking the tos nintendo? Well, that's what nintendo punished......

I'm not saying it's good or scary, just that there's a way to avoid it, restore the nand, it's a shame to make a switch that has a flaw, that's not fixed, useless on the nintendo network, it takes 30min to restore the nand, now there's nothing to do.

I downloaded nsp games and nsp updates for xci games, I never played online on these games I keep my system on airplane mode. I just want to go online to update my system ofw to 6.1.0 without autorcm and then put it back in sleep mode and install sx os back.
can I get superban just from going online to update the system and then go back to airplane mode?
