nah i wouldn't recommend this. it will exhaust your gpu and procie plus heat. will reduce the lifespan of your switch.

It was never actually stated when it would be released it was only a guess at maybe it would release and that was if there were no issues. things have to be re-coded and worked on so that it's stable and usable. it will come when its ready until then forget about it.

Hopefully the impact on battery drain isn't too ridiculous, this is looking great so I hope we see some kind of release soon!

Aha, so emulation is not porting PSX firmware\libraries to Switch?
To be fair, this is the basis of High Level Emulation, which has been used extensively in certain emulation projects like the UltraHLE n64 emulator. It still had to emulate the cpu and other hardware in a conventional manner, but calls to graphics library functions etc were not emulated instruction-by-instruction like usual (low-level emulation), instead their overall function was replicated in native code (giving more speed but less accuracy).

Is there any way to get a temp reading from the Tegra while playing, or would that only be possible in Lakka ?

It should be possible to do so in Horizon.
The Switch itself should check temperature for the failsafe system, so there should be something that's usable for a homebrew app or something.

Here:

I2cDevice #2 & #3, it seems that the PTM services are the ones that handle that.

I will be OCing my switch to 1200MHZ to play those sweet sweet PS1 JRPGs :D
I know Xenogears had some rendering issues in the first mountain area at the beginning of the game before the libretro team officially got into Switch development. It might have improved now without the need for overclocking (the only games I could see you absolutely needing it are the Tales games or that one sequence where Xenogears tries to be a fighter that's at least more fun than Star Wars: Masters of Trying to Fight with Input Lag)
