............is that supposed to exclude the fact that more voltage means more heat? Heat will only be an issue if you go too high.
More heat = More fan speed
More Fanspeed = less heat
They are testing for a reason to make sure they don't go too high.
They won't release overclocking if it will melt your switch lol Maybe a new dev that doesn't know what they are doing. But we have professionals on the job

really looking forward to this
over clocking should be fine. it wont melt your switch..dont listen to idiots

if it over heats the system will just shut down.

u guys complaining about OC are so dumb, OC is something so common that i dont even understand what are you afraid off, just get lost of this thread

I personally cant wait for this!

Btw, would not a simple IPS patch make us able to have a docked experience while undocked?

I'd rather the emulators get as optimized as much as possible, i.e dynarec, before resorting to overclocking. Seems a bit unnecessary, no?
I agree. Dynarec is one of the first things you should work on when porting an emulator. ARM dynarecs already exist for most systems, they should be portable with little to no effort. There's also optimizations that can be done by using platform specific extensions, which I believe the Tegra SoCs have. And just general optimizations to the code. There's no reason N64 and PSX couldn't run full-speed at stock clock. The OpenPandora managed full-speed PSX at a measly 600mhz, N64 is not so easy and still struggled at 1ghz, but that was a rather old SoC with a weak GPU and it seemed to be more limited by that. Plus it ran a full Linux distro, the Switch OS by comparison is more barebones.
