So yea basically my switch is in autorcm mode. I've tooling around online and can't seem to find a method to restore booting normally.

(I use Switch OS X and a dongle to run CFW) I had just updated my sx os and now I'm dealing with my current issue.

Any help with this would be amazing.

how did you install autoRCM? Usually whatever programm you used to enable autoRCM should also allow you to disable it again.

Did you use the SX OS Boot menu to install it?
ChoiDojourNX to update the system?
ReiNX Toolkit to toggle?
Hekate to install?

Anyway, the screen you provided. Use Hekate (but go for latest 4.2 version), go into "Tools" and navigate to AutoRCM option there. If it says "Enabled" you can disable it there

This actually worked and now my switch is out of RCM mode

But now a new issue has started and after updating, my SX OS doesn't work? As in CFW won't boot even when it's selected...

Do you see the SX OS splash screen when booting via the RCM? what happens when you select the album option on your home screen?

The splash screen comes up. I select"Boot CFW" and then it takes a much longer time to actually get to the system menu.

When it does it prompts me about a system update to able to use my memory csrd and a controller update.

When I try to go into albums. It'll change screens but then take me right back to the home screen again

it's an issue with the SD cards file system, then. If your card is formatted to exFAT, the system will need to install the exFAT drivers via an update before it can read the SD card. That's why your CFW doesn't work.

Try reformating the card as FAT32 or install the exFAT update.

You can either get the exFAT update by selecting "System update" when the switch asks you to (if your switch isn't banned from CDN yet) or try following a tutorial on how to install it "offline":
https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...tch-console-on-any-ofw-without-update.505182/

Either way, maybe doublecheck the filesystem of the sdcard on your PC first. Windows will tell you wether it is formated as FAT32 or exFAT.

I think using ChoidojourNX might be easier, accoridng to the FAQs it can also install the exFAT update on its own. We can't link you to the update files, though. They are copyrighted by Nintendo.

  • Q: I just want to install exFAT on the current firmware version I already have. Can I do this using ChoiDujourNX ?
  • A: Absolutely, just place a folder containing the exFAT version of the firmware you are currently running and choose it inside ChoiDujourNX. It will only install the required couple of packages needed for exFAT, and you can even disable the AutoRCM option (if you are sure the firmware you are installing is the same burned fuse count as the one you are currently running).

Yup it's exfat
Since the card is larger than 32Gb, Windows won't let you format it as FAT32 using on board tools.

1. Option: Format it as FAT32 using third party tools (http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm for example). You won't need to fiddle around with updates, plus the FAT32 driver is a lot more stable on the switch. However, FAT32 has a filesize limit of 4GB, so .XCI images larger than 4GB need to be split.

2. Option: Install the exFAT update by whatever method you have access to. This will allow you to use files larger than 4GB, no need to split anything. Just drag and drop. However you should note that the exFAT driver from Nintendo is somewhat unsafe when it comes to write access to the SD card. Therefore homebrew can cause FS curroption on the card when a write process to the Filesystem gets forcefully interrupted. If you're not using homebrew applications (i.e. XCI loading only), you don't need to worry, though.

I was actually able to update over WiFi. I guess I haven't been banned yet. Anyway, everything seems to be working. ( I was trying to update so I could play dark souls)

It's working now but once again. Thank you so much for your patience and hell. You habh no idea how relieved I am.
