Soft subs? I know a few people that undubbed Persona 1 on PSP and had to change the subtitles to match the Japanese voices. Do you have a Discord account?
On soft-subs; the Tales scene did this on some games, with a few names to credit and quality to rival anyone. Research tells me that Kingcom specifically done them for Innocence (NDS) and memory tells me that someone tried them for Phantasia X (PSP). With the last turn A0T took, I dunno about the scene state, but there's knowledge there for sure.

On management; Trello is always a name thrown around. You can even make things public, to shut up people or to make them feel more righteous in their fury! Anyway, as someone who tried it I can say that it can help you manage, but it won't make you manage.
I just use notepad and amend things as I go.

As for softsubs, the only game that I know of is tales of innocence

Sorry for the slow response.
Thanks for the different suggestions and info :yaypsp:

Unfortunately we came across some new issues so I'm parking the soft-subs research until I get those resolved, since the movie subs aren't as important as making sure the game doesn't crash... ;)

Checking back in after a few months to be greeted by a post from Jam. You have no idea how reassuring it is to hear from you directly instead of having to use a go between.

Hey. Literally made an account on here to show my absolute appreciation to everyone in this forum especially Jam. Just would like to say, I've been following this forum for over a year now and I've seen a lot of people giving their insight on wanting this patch to be fully released. I honestly cannot express my gratitude enough just how much this project really means to me. As a huge Phantasy star enthusiast particularly the portable series, and like majority of people on this forum been really wanting to play Infinity in English. Its been a long time in development, but after some reassurance from Jam, it really puts me at ease and makes me genuinely happy to have such dedicated people who still cares just as much about the game like majority of others here too. I am absolutely fine and satisfied on waiting for when, Jam feels it is ready to be released as I've heard this project does take a long time. Take as much time as you need to and work at your own pace. Seriously, I've been wanting to play Infinity in English for so long now, and you're literally making that become a reality. Really looking forward to playing this game someday on my actual PSP. I wish you all the best to keep up the amazing work that you do in order for you to bless us with this patch. Will be checking back in ad following this forum as usual when I can. Thanks again, dude! ^_^

Meanwhile Phantasy Star Universe Clementine has been making the bosses playable week after week in the last month as well as fixing traps and enemy drops. Don't bother with PSP2i when PSU is back and ready to go , there is simply no need too.

PSP2i is a stand alone game with it's own story, completely different than an online game. If just playing phantasy star was what people wanted they'd just be satisfied with PSP2 but people want to experience the additions from infinity. I think a lot of the people who want this game translated didn't even experience the old PSU (I didn't, I started with PSP2) so the fact it's back is irrelevant. I for one can't wait until this translation is completed!

Your name though lol

But yeah, this stance doesn't really make any sense. Like the poster above me said, it's a standalone game. The portable series also has extra gameplay mechanics like dodging and blocking, making it a superior experience IMO. (Correct me if I'm wrong, and PSU later added these things.) Plus, key words there, "Portable". PSP2i can me played on the go, and even a lot of modern emulators can play PSP games so these games are very accessible on a ton of devices. Not to mention the easiness of PSP save copying and transporting among these devices.

I bought my own copy of PSP2i years ago due to the announcement of this English patch so I'd be able to make my own clean file. I've been patiently waiting for this specific release. I'm not too fond of the restrictiveness of PSU, both as the games availability of platforms, and it's lesser gameplay mechanics and content. So I'll continue waiting for this, but thanks.

My name was a more optimistic, hopeful me. I go into everything with an open mind. It's been over 4 years, with realistically yet another 2-3 to go. No game is worth waiting 6-7 years for, not a single one. Where do you think all of PSP2is content comes from? From PSU. Where does PSUs late game content come from? PSP2i. They bounced back off each other because they started development on PSO2 and got lazy around 2011. The only thing missing from PSU is the doge system but its a worthy trade off when you consider the much better gameplay that doesn't involve hammering things with basic attacks before using a PA, or only being given 100 PP to do anything with, using a PA, then waiting for it to recharge slowly if you're not a cast or newman. Humans were always middle of the road classes with no stand out abilities, but in PSU at least beasts were able to be capable gunners and fighters if you choose. In PSP they are garbage because of how slow their PP meter is.

You will get your menus in 2021+ and you will like it.

I genuinely prefer nearly every system in PSP2/i to PSU's, from attack timing to the mag weapon types to the way class abilities are awarded, set up and combined by the player. It's a much better game I feel, and one that feels more replayable. PSP2 isn't just PSU sent to portable, it feels like they hybridized PSO and PSU combat more than anything.

I hope not...

I was just going by what "ineedPSP2i" said. I hope it's not 2021, I bought 2 copies of the game on ebay, one for me and one for my friend (they're pretty cheap, less than $10 CAD a piece). Sure, we'll just be using ISO on our Vitas in the end, but it's still nice that have the physical game for both displaying and just dumping a proper ISO with our own PSPs.

That's what makes this game so satisfying! I would even say that Infinity has much more content than PSU making it even better.

I haven't read all 82 pages of posts here

haha I wish I could say the same
