Thank you. I thought I am just really stupid. But this information was just missing. I am still a little bit confused about which config file to use and what name to give. I tried to inject F-Zero (E) into F-Zero (US) and used an F-Zero z64 file named FZeroX.z64 - the config file I used was conig.ini from the F-Zero (US) VC game. But there is another folder in "content" with lots of UXXX.XXX ini files.

Cheers

Just ignore them. If you're using my version of the tool, you can name the .ini file whatever you want.

But why are you injecting the European "F-Zero X" into the American one? You could just use the official VC title.

Yeah. That's right. Tried it with other titles as well. But unfortunately it didn't work. So I thought at least that should work.

Now I understood lots of stuff. I couldn't find it anywhere, but now it works. If anyone is looking for it: How N64 Injection works:

  1. Get a game you already own with JNUSTool (decrypted)
  2. go to the folder content > config
  3. open the files and find the right one for your game and copy it
  4. rename it to the name of the file in Content > rom (like Uninj0.001)
  5. overwrite the already existing ini file, which belongs to the file in content > rom
  6. rename your rom file (of an N64 game you own) to the same name (Uninj0.001.z64)
  7. copy banners, rom and the decrypted stuff from the JNUSTool to Files
  8. Move the folders from JNUSTool in a folder named Base
  9. open Injectiine
  10. choose N64
  11. choose use provided base files
  12. enter a product id like INJ0
  13. choose to automatically generate a title id
  14. as rom/ini name use the name of your renamed rom (Uninj0.001.z64)
  15. choose to use ini from base (providing one in Files seems not to work - thats why we overwrote the ini in content > config)
  16. choose to encrypt for WUP-installer

Hope this saves you some time.

Hi there. Trying to inject a NES game. But Injectiine often crashes. I guess the NES rom is too big (e.g. Super Mario Bros 3 or Krustys Fun House). Is there a workaround?

I suggest you to try the Injectiine version linked in my previous post:
Hey there! I made a "new" version of this tool.
Everything seems to work fine now but there's a downside: you need to manually supply a base rom in RAW format (code/content/meta), because you can't download it anymore using Injectiine.

Btw, now the program doesn't delete the content of the Files folder, so even if it fails you won't lose your roms/images.
I also added Dark Filter and Widescreen Frame options for N64 injections...
Tell me if you encounter any bug. ;)

The official version doesn't work well with NES and GBA injections.

If you've not figured it out already, I suggest you to follow this tutorial: https://gbatemp.net/threads/jnustool-unofficial-gui-mod.445962/

Using this tool you can find the base Wii U VC game (in RAW/decrypted format) listed in the compatibility list. The game you want to play (and inject) has to be an n64 rom.
After getting the base rom file I add the folder to the "files" tab open injectiine but it gives me an error message and says there's no base room. I've tried with f-zero x and donkey kong 64 and no luck. What am I doing wrong here?

You should name the base rom folder as "Base".

I did that and it still won't work. I added it to the files folder with the game rom and png files.
You have to use a base rom in the decrypted/Loadiine format (code+content+meta). The three folders must be put directly inside the "Base" folder.

So you should have these paths: "Files\Base\code", "Files\Base\content" and "Files\Base\meta". That error is triggered only if these three folders don't exist.

I followed your instructions for N64 injection and nothing shows up in the "Output" folder. Any idea of why this could be happening?

EDIT: I found out what the issue is with the program closing. When entering in the short name you cannot put any form of punctuation, commas or parentheses or else it will close at the end and leave your "Output" folder empty.

Hey there everyone. I've been trying to inject the original super smash bros. and it seems to work just fine for the most part. The game starts up fine but always crashed just before a character is about to fall off the screen. I've tried using mario golf, and dk64 as a base so far and neither have worked, any help would be appreciated as there doesn't seem to be any decent tutorials out there for this yet.

I have the same problem with Super Smash Bros.

Thanks for the response, it seems odd that smash bros. would have a problem though since it was already on vc in japan.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Haven't tried the japanese rom, though. Only the german and US rom and replaced the game id in a hex editor, as described in the wiki. But neither worked. Both crashed after some time. Either in the menu or during fight.
