PS4 exclusive Days Gone delayed once more

With the lack of upcoming heavy hitting PlayStation 4 exclusives, and the announcement of PSX 2018 not happening this year, Sony has decided to quickly discuss and give an update for four titles that’ll be launching on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR soon. Deracine, Days Gone, Everybody’s Golf VR, and Concrete Genie are on tap from PlayStation Worldwide Studios, though a lack of any new details for The Last of Us Part 2, or Media Molecule’s Dreams is noticeable here.

Deracine, made by Dark Souls developer FromSoftware is a PlayStation VR exclusive, which has players experience a story through the eyes of a faerie going through a school where time doesn’t move. It’s still on track for its November 6 of this year.

Notably, we see that Days Gone has faced another delay, once slotted to release in 2018, and then changed to February 2019, the game has now been scheduled for launch on April 26, 2019. This time, the reason for the delay was due to February having too heavy a lineup, and a delay giving time for Days Gone to release when there’s not many competing games, as well as allow Sony’s Bend Studio more time to polish the game.

Concrete Genie doesn’t have much information available within its description, but the game features a character who uses a magical paintbrush to save his town. More details are promised at a later date for this early 2019 release.

Lastly, Everybody’s Golf will be coming to PlayStation VR, offering a virtual reality experience of playing golf in VR with the PSVR headset and the PlayStation Move controller.

It wasn't started from scratch. Either way, delaying a game gives no guaranteen it'll be good. Obviously rushing out is hurtful but in these days is recoverable, take the example of No Man's Sky, and you can delay a game that as poor design from scratch. More even so, if the game is delayed there is some chance that it was poor planed to begin with and it'll ever suffer for it, regardless when it is launched.
Actually, if you look at Duke Nukem Forever's development, it basically was started from scratch a couple of times throughout development time. Switching to different engines, scrapping out ideas and concepts, switching over to next gen consoles (PS3/Xbox 360), etc. It was basically Final Fantasy Versus XIII to Final Fantasy XV. Being that the actual full development of the game only really started a couple of years before the actual release. So basically it was a rushed product.

That's just what everyone said about Persona 5's lengthy development... oh, wait, no, nobody said that... except maybe a few bitter Nintendroids
what? persona 5 isnt a generic zombie game and its also the sequel to persona 4, a 2008 PS2 game, so its not like it wasnt expected, if anything, it was a predictable pattern.
also, the first nintendo console (not portable) that i ever bought was a used wii earlier this year, so how am i a nintendo fanboy?

Bolded the portion of my statement that makes your response irrelevant.
Shouldn't have to explain the 'humour', but as it was a response to...

...from someone obviously unaware that there is a certain amount of hype around this game and that lengthy developments of highly anticipated releases are not a bad thing.
Did anyone ever say that Last Guardian should just be cancelled because nobody gave a shit? ...and that game literally did skip more than a whole console generation!
why answer to the same comment twice with the same nonsense argument, last guardian isnt a generic zombie shooter that everybody forgot.

Sony's and Microsoft's games are always delayed
That why I stick with Nintendo^^
(huh... wait...)
Nothing is wrong with a delayed game.
its times like these I remember the wisdom of the great Shigeru Miyamoto

Depends on why the game is delayed. If it's for marketing reasons (as this one was) then the delay isn't going to magically improve the game quality. Also, development hell games like Duke Nukem Forever and Too Human that were delayed for over a decade got worse with time instead of better.

while i see where your coming from and I understand it won't magically improve the game (add major new features in most cases ) I have to still disagree.

considering the majority of game devs do some bug fixing and patches post-launch for a few months/a year or so,
in the case where something was delayed strictly for marketing reasons, the people working on bug fixes still would be.
only now the patch may be day one or shortly after launch rather than a month or more after launch.
also since the start of the post-launch support period started later then hypothetically it may last longer than originally intended thus they may have more time to patch things then they would have.

so its still a net benefit even if on paper it was only for marketing purposes.
