Thanks for offering your assistance guys!

Can you help verify whether or not the following list of apps in ModMii v6.4.8 each support wii motion + controllers? Taking it a step further, if ModMii is using a broken version of an app can you link me to a working version (if possible) that would be amazeballs.

If you want to suggest another version of an app for a different reason feel free to suggest it along with why and a link. e.g. perhaps @scooby74029 wants me to update the version of MyMenuifyMod used by ModMIi, or maybe @Cyan wants to suggest using a different version of syscheck,

These are all from ModMii's Download Page 2 except MyMenuifyMod which is on page 3.

  1. Multi-Mod Manager (MMM) v13.4 - NOT WORKING (already have a replacement though)
  2. Any Region Changer (1.1b Mod06 Offline)
  3. sysCheck
  4. IOS236 Installer v5 Mod - N/A (autocompletes)
  5. Simple IOS Patcher
  6. Priiloader v0.7 (236 Mod)
  7. MyMenuifyMod
  8. Configurable USB-Loader Mod
  9. WiiFlow
  10. WiiMod - (already have a replacement)
  11. Yet Another Wad Manager Mod - WORKING
  12. Dop-Mii
  13. Neogamma Backup Disc Loader
  14. Accio Hacks
  15. nSwitch
  16. WiiMC - Media Player
  17. FCEUGX - NES Emulator for the Wii
  18. SNES9xGX - SNES Emulator for the Wii
  19. Visual Boy Advance GX - GB/GBA Emulator for the Wii
  20. Wii64 beta1.1 (N64 Emulator)
  21. WiiSX beta2.1 (Playstation 1 Emulator)
  22. SaveGame Manager GX
  23. Postloader
  24. WiiXplorer
  25. Homebrew Browser
  26. Locked Apps Folder for HBC (PASS=UDLRAB)

At the end of the day there are more than a couple items in this list that aren't vital for the softmod process (i.e. Neogamma, WiiXplorer, etc.) so if motion + support for them is missing and we can't easily find a working version or compile a working version then what's already there will have to suffice

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

MMM definitely requires an older remote. It does not work with WM+. YAWMM does. Priiloader works with either. Not sure about AnyRegion Changer.

I could've sworn I found the source for MMM and recompiled it but I could be crazy and will have to do some more digging.
Bro if you have an updated version of MMM that would save me a LOT of trouble. If I can swap in a new boot.dol instead of updating guides, videos, gifs that would be HUGE! Not to mention just sharing the source publicly would be an accomplishment because last I looked it wasn't anywhere to be found.

Ones I know work with WM+: 3, 4, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22-25.

I *think* WiiMod works but I know WiiMod Lite does.

Yeah I know it's down for more than just me, I was curious if there is someplace else I can get that file? Or if that site is down no one can get the Hackmii installer?

Thank you!
Thank their no-mirrors-wanted policy (hint: when a video game company claims the same, "we" circulate pirate copies under the excuse of long-term preservation)

You can get the HBC 1.1.3+ in wad format, but it's not useful unless you already have one of BootMii/boot2, Priiloader, HBC, other AHBPROT-enabled forwarders installed, patched IOS - since you wouldn't be able to get installation permissions...

Multi-Mod Manager (MMM) v13.4 - NOT WORKING (already have a replacement though)
Can confirm, my remote is of the non-TR type which works fine with problematic homebrews!

I used to mod wii's regularly, but it's been years and I have forgotten pretty much everything i needed to do, so I was just trying to use the ModMii to do it. Everything else downloaded fine, it's just the hackmii installer that didn't. Can one of the other tools be used instead of it that you mentioned?

I'm sure there was something in the hint that should have helped me find it, but I couldn't decipher it! I'm getting old and losing it! LOL

Edit: I was able to find a copy of hackmii installer 1.2! Woot. Thanks for the help.

I have another question: What is the best way to play mario kart 64? Should I was an emulator? If so which is the best?? Or can you use virtual console somehow?

@XFlak Hi again, I was going to test the programs with Wiimote +, however parnaoid as I am, I scanned them with virustotal, both modmii installer aswell as the .zip package neither of them comes back with a clean sheet
Installer: https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/5...b9aafd06b359d949238d31868953a720fbc/detection
.Zip-package : https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/4...8856c1aa18656561fd016b2643efa4aa82d/detection

Have I simply not downloaded the right files or are all false positives? I tried searching for answers however most threads regarding this were from like 2011 so not really the most up to date things

None of them say it's a known piece of malware - they all say some variation on "generic trojan", meaning it pissed off some automatic code review/disassembly tool

Given what it does (download and launch Windows software, at least in part - does that remind you of a Java, Sourceforge, and-many-others scandal of the past years?) and how it does it (batch files converted to exe...) it's not too surprising some would suspect it

If you choose to download and open a file, you put your trust into it - but if you use a virus scanner (or 50), you are putting your trust into them (which are very often made for profit, often to the point of taking bribes to flag known safe things that aren't liked by Big Capitalism: an old version of, I think, Norton complained at any file called "keygen.exe" regardless of content!)

You can trust me and the thousands upon thousands of people that have used ModMii. Trust me I'm not smart enough to build a virus into a batch file even if I wanted to, lol! And even if I could, I would never choose to do something like that because it goes against my helpful nature and everything I believe in.

(Posting again under the right topic, sorry for the duplicate)

Any workaround for the Hackmii download problem? Bootmii.org still is offline. :(

Is it possible to download it anyhow and put it under some c:\modmii folder ?

@XFlak @Ryccardo I'm happy to read your answers, mostly because of how you write and both of you are respectable persons here on GBAtemp.

@Ryccardo Of course, however even if they false flag such things, they don't catch everthing either. I know very little about coding, but from what I've been able to understand from talks at CCC and around here, regarding exploits and such, I'm really impressed by it. Take the wii or really any modern console, there amazing people manage to achieve the highest privilage within the system, when they are not supposed to. Shift your eyes on windows, here I might be the one to give the program admin privileges, and even if that in it self is not enough, it makes the process easier. As you say, any code you execute you will have to trust. You make alot of points, and in the end you will have to decide if you will execute the program.

Cheers for both of you answering :)

Anyone who's ever used ModMii to download the hackmii installer in the past would still have a copy of it in their modmii/temp folder.

If you were to place the same file modmii is looking for in the modmii/temp folder it will use it - assuming it passes the md5 hash check otherwise it will try to re-download it.

If I know the posts will be merged anyway then what's the big deal? Silly gbatemp and your rules ;)

Thanks man I really appreciate hearing that

Uh.. I think I've just found a workaround for the failed Hackmii download.

It was not easy to find a valid version of HackMii Installer out on the web.

Search google for hackmii_installer_v1.2 + nintendomax. The first site shown should be titled "[Wii] HackMii Installer v1.2 - Nintendomax"

Oddly, Mozilla Firefox says that this file contains a virus. I kept the zipfile anyway and scanned through an updated Kaspersky Endpoint Security 11 and it said it's clean.

I renamed the file to hackmii_installer_v1.2.zip, and put it under c:\modmii\temp folder.

Seems like the file is ok, since ModMii didn't complain about the MD5. I tried this with another hackmii_installer_v1.2.zip I downloaded somewhere else, and it didn't pass the MD5, so ....

I wonder how you made that discovery, lol

You might want to remove that link btw, and instead offer to PM it to people. Those are the 'temp rules

P.S. Auto merge warnings can suck it, lol.

If HackMii is still down you could try WiiBrand. I'm not sure if it needs something from that site or not, though.

please.hackmii.com seems to be working fine for me currently.

Wilbrand is an exploit replacement for letterbomb, not the hackmii installer. There's no (public) way around using the hackmii installer... unless u count ModMii's abstinence wizard which uses Casper to boot directly into a neek emulated NAND even on a virgin wii

You can get the HBC 1.1.3+ in wad format, but it's not useful unless you already have one of BootMii/boot2, Priiloader, HBC, other AHBPROT-enabled forwarders installed, patched IOS - since you wouldn't be able to get installation permissions...

I don't understand the steps needed to get missing hackmii installer to update this old softmod wii any help welcome
