Installed the CFW with a flashcart on 2 2ds following the 3ds.hack.guide with no issues. This morning my 3 years old son complained this morning that he couldn't play any games anymore on one of the 2ds. It looks like he somehow did a factory reset where it asks for your name/ etc.. 128GB sd card used to be full but pretty much down to few GB now so he might have done more than a factory reset. I can still boot to godmode9 when I hold start and power but when I boot normally it boots like a stock without any of the FBI/CIA and other CFW related apps. I restored the backup SD card files with same result. Is there any way to restore the CFW using the godmode9 or do I have start from beginning of the guide and start with a fresh SD card and reinstall everything? Thanks for any help.

Your 2DS is still hacked. If you factory reset the console, your "current" games on SD won't show. You have to reinstall them (or something...).
Follow the Finalizing Setup.
If you want to format your SD, also put boot.3dsx on root (just to be sure)

Thanks got the Homebrew/FBI apps back! So there's no way get the games in the SD card already back without reinstalling it again?
Unless you have a SysNAND imaged backed up somewhere when you first installed custom firmware, you can't get your games and saves back. You need your original/intact movable.sed that's part of the 3DS internal CTRNAND.

I believe I have it somewhere in my drive. But it looks like it'll be easier to just reinstall the games and just have him grind it out with his Nintendogs saves. The 3ds hack guide should include your optional step 23 new backup of sysnand after installing all the games. Thanks!
