Exclusive Online play for banned members Network possible

Special thanks to @spacemeowx2 at https://github.com/spacemeowx2/switch-lan-play for the tool
and @mastertwin for the tutorial

this works on all firmwares, hacked or not hacked switch, Banned or not Banned switch. game updated prefered. Mainly useful to play in community public servers.

things you would need:
-https://www.github.com/spacemeowx2/switch-lan-play/releases

1. Edit Switch Internet settings
-set IP adress to static
-make up an IP address. your unique IP can be anything from 10.13.0.1 to 10.13.255.254 (Except 10.13.37.1 because its Gateway)
-input your made up IP address at the IP address section.
-Subnet Mask stays at 255.255.0.0
-Gateway stays at 10.13.37.001
-Configure DNS primary to manual. Configure DNS primary to 008.008.008.008
if you have a hacked console and are not banned yet, use 90 DNS to avoid telemetry. 90 DNS settings are "163.172.141.219" for primary and secondary DNS to "45.248.48.62"
-Save and that is it here.

2. Download software

3. Run Software
-Install winpcap fully
-double click on lan-play.exe and copy paste public server of your choice

available public servers:
35.236.10.223:11451

189.222.60.255:11451

-press enter. it will prompt you to enter your switch's LAN "interface".

Your interface will be the option containing your PCs IP address.
To find your PCs IP address, go to start on your PC and type in CMD. In CMD type: ipconfig
-you should get something like this

QutRhTG.png
You may get more than one adapters, but In most cases, computer's IP address would be found in the first one. This is the one that connects to the internet and is connected to the router. it will be in the IPv4 section.

In this case interface 5 has the same IP from earlier (computer's IP address). So 5 is the interface that must be chosen. Type 5 and press enter.

if youre having problems with this step you can try different interface numbers until the switch can later on connect to your PCs internet. Also, try resetting your computer and switch if problems persist. Its possible your PC needs a restart to fully instlall wincap

4. Connect internet on Console and verify connected to internet fully.

Wifi shouldn't be a problem, though. What exactly is the OUI used for, though? Is it only used to actually identify the switch unit (in wich case the user could be asked to provide the MAC Address as a workaround for non-nintendo adapters) or is the intention of the OUI usage to only *allow* certain OUIs to verify the integrity of the data?

It's largely used as a tool for device detection.

Adding an optional field where users can manually add the MAC address is an option currently, failing other detection methods.

Just thought I should point out, there's a minor issue with one of the steps in your tutorial.

Your interface will be the option containing your PCs IP address.

The adapter you pick is the one on the same network as your Switch. It's not necessarily the one used for internet access. E.g. if a user connects their Switch directly to an ethernet adapter on their PC, then connects their PC to the internet through wifi or a second ethernet adapter, they would still need to pick the first ethernet adapter.

Also, XLink Kai moderator here. I can confirm we will be adding support for the Nintendo Switch, as well as the Xbox One, PS4 and PS Vita in the near future.

just set up switchonline.club:11451 as a server in Dallas as most of the current servers favor west coast (looking at you LA and seattle), or across the pond in EU. its sitting on 1gbps uplink so shouldnt be an issue for speeds either.

First I thought I was doing something wrong, I knew I had connection but Mario kart just gave me -4095 error but when I checked RetroArch I seen I had a connection as you can see in the photo. Am I getting an error on Mario Kart because a lot people are using the server to connect to that game. If that’s the case, is there a tutorial on how to use my own server using windows.

Never mind just looked at the list of games that work and seen Mario kart has to be version 1.0, I have the latest update installed, got to go find a 1.0 version.

If you refer to my thread, I have put v1.0 because LAN mode was already there.
Some games need update because LAN mode was introduced in certain patch so you need at least this version.
Any ways, v1.0 is pure xci version and Mario Kats asks for latest update.
I was ok with 1.7.
Maybe you used ip address that was already taken?

I will look into making Mario kart work, by the way by IP address, are you saying the ip I used setting up the switch and I do recall having to update Mario kart some time ago to make it work. I guess I got confused a bit thinking I needed certain versions of the game to play online. Even though at the moment there is a small list of games, at least there are good games on the list to play. I wish Puyo Puyo Tetris had lan play, maybe it does and I don’t know how to access it.
