I know that NSPs with fake tickets are pretty much automatic bans, but what about XCIs converted to NSPs with no tickets? I'd like to avoid buying SX OS just to use XCIs, so are these conversions safer than fake ticket NSPs?

Safer? Yes. I don't have plans on adding that as a separate question but if you only installed ticket-less .NSP files (and have already ensured you do not have any fake tickets remaining in your system), then indicate as such during the .NSP portion of the survey.

Talk about some fucking overkill. I just need my account, games and save data.
Don't use the same account from a banned Switch, the TICKETS (fake ones) or real ones are carried over the new Switch via your account, its very likely you will get banned for using the same account!

I haven't been banned on my new Switch but all of the tickets for backups and updates or NSP are there, I have no idea how they got there but I have them there. The only thing I did was to link my banned account and boom.. Nintendo's Magic.

But I didn't use it for nsps. I just used it for emulators and shit

My previous UPDATE posts

This will be update #4
Sorry it took so long but anywho after MHGU and Nintendo's online service came out I still wasn't banned. EVERYTHING was still the same on my form up until yesterday 10-16-18 when TX released 2.2beta for usb loading. I ran backups (xci's trimmed and non trimmed) and I updated them in OFW. I also put in certs into these backups corresponding to whether they are single player games>single player game cert AND multiplayer game>multiplayer game cert.

Just about 15mins ago (today on 10-17-18) I checked to see if I was banned by going into the eSHOP and playing fortnite and paladin's online and I'm still good.
This was all in OFW of course. I did not do SX/OS emunand and I didn't get that "other version" or 6.0.0 from CDN. I updated to 6.0.0 normally AND to 6.0.1 normally as well.

So in other words from 7/23/18 through 10/15/18 I ran sx os with purely just homebrew apps and I wasn't banned.

How at risk am I of a ban if I'll I've done is load Atmosphere onto my Switch for the sole purpose of using Checkpoint to back up my saves then rebooting the system to unload Atmosphere?

Since firmware 6.0, Nintendo has been banning more and more people for using homebrew (before, it was only one isolated case where a user also cleared error logs on 5.X). Some of these people were banned for using a save manager on Splatoon 2, without even modifying the save file. The risk is there but its hard to quantify.

Just to backup saves? I'd say pretty low. Assuming you kept it offline the entire time. If you were to restore saves, that's more iffy. I know they're keeping an eye on Splatoon 2 cheating, so I wouldn't restore that (more specifically, I wouldn't restore an older version of a save than you've gone online with).

Saves I'm mainly wanting to back up are my MHGU and MHXX saves cause fuck losing the 800+ combine hours getting to G4 and Hunter Rank 126(GU) and Hunter Rank 88(XX).

I’m still not banned, and I’ve modified my BotW and Skyrim saves. Haven’t played Either since 6.x came out though, if that makes a difference.

Can anyone confirm with technical information on why some people are saying that emunand on Nand is worse than Nand on SD, I mean, the nintendo could do a check on both right? Nintendo do make checks on SD to search for pirated games, why not a Emunand on a partition that should not have a Nand? SX OS receives hate for anything they have done, why not this is the same situation ?

Nintendo cannot scan the SD card for contents (would be a privacy violation if they did so). And even if they hypothetically could scan the contents of an SD card, that doesn't mean the console is hacked. Daily reminder that Nintendo doesn't ban people for piracy (piracy gets you arrested), they ban people for hacking their console. If there is an EmuNAND partition stored in the system itself, that is point-blank evidence you hacked the console because it is literally impossible to modify the Switch's internal storage system without hacking.

did anyone determine yet if a real physical cart ran on a banned switch poisons a brand new switch?

If you have a brand new cart, play it on an already banned system, then play it on a brand new Switch...no, your brand new Switch will NOT be banned.

Now that that's answered, I'll answer a couple other questions you may have.

If someone dumped the cart (including the unique certificate) AND went online at the same time as you did with the physical cart...it's possible (not likely, but possible) that Nintendo would issue a cert ban, and the cart would not be usable for online play anymore. It is also technically possible that Nintendo could ban either/both Switches, but the chances of that are so low as to be nonexistent.

If someone dumped the cart (including the unique certificate) and made it available for others to download, and it appeared to Nintendo that a lot of people were using the exact same physical cart at the same time...there will definitely be a cert ban (affecting the cart only, not a console). As for a console ban, I'd say the console using the actual physical cart would not be banned. There has been one unconfirmed report of this happening, but I think it was just FUD/trolling. If Nintendo were banning consoles ONLY because it went online with the same cart as another...we'd be hearing a LOT more about it.
