I guess you are not only new to the scene but to what is being discussed here. Switch carts have a unique cert on them, yes. But unlike the eshop certs, it doesn't have the date or which account bought the game. That means as long as the carts cert isn't being used by 2 or more switches at the same time you are pretty golden.
NSP files on the other hand will get you banned. Nothing we can do currently to change that. Maybe they will find a fix, like using another eshop games cert, but maybe not.
Try to play any scene XCI online to test how golden you really are. Hint: not at all.
You will see error message instantly. So yeah, Nintendo can perfectly tell if you run pirated XCI.
This happens because every scene release has serial number (cert or whatever is called) zeroed out, making it instantly detectable. I wonder why this concept is so hard to grasp for some people.

Unless you put a good cert in from another game, Like I did with all my xci files. I wonder why this concept is so hard to grasp by you? This is after all, common practice since the 3DS carts.
You can do whatever you like. But every cert is issued for particular game. Like every eShop ticket and steam key are issued for particular games.
It is not rocket science after all.

Your are right, it's not rocket science, but it does seem above your comprehension level.
I use xci since it is a lot safer than nap right now but ounce nap becomes somewhat safe I'll switch over to it.
XCI because:
1: Drag and drop - no need to install.
2: Safer and easy to get game updates for.
3: Can be converted to NSP if required.
4: Can Also be split to work on fat32 with 32k clusters.
NSP is good as well - but I would never go online with them, and I'd only install them in emunand.

I only used nsp so I corrrect me if im wrong.
Pro NSP:
-Any installed game can be launched from menu without mounting or anything.
-Some games arent available on cartridge and therefore only available in NSP format.
Con NSP:
-Need to install games but after that the games can be launched anytime without hassle
-XCI are supposedly safer, but I also heard of bans by playing XCI exclusively

-I don't have to use the closed SX OS any longer and I can also use open solutions like ReiNX or Atmosphere
-They sit on my NAS and I can conviniently install them over the network using dz. At this point, that's even more convenient than copying over an XCI file using my PC.
-I don't trust in either NSP or XCI files to be safe at all so I am just going to continue using NSP files. I think i'll be banned eventually either way.

With the newest SX OS update allowing you to use XCI from external hard drives or pen drives XCI just became a lot better for those that have SX OS and prefer playing in docked mode. You can have an external HD with terabytes of XCI files connected to your dock.
I'm leaning more towards NSP now, especially with DZ (network installing) where I don't have to turn off the Switch or worry about Fat32 limits. Also the difference in time between the XCI and NSP versions of Dragonball FighterZ was noticeable. With the smaller filesizes I'm seriously tempted to convert my whole collection to NSP now

One of the sites that weren't blocked on the school's network was some file uploading sites. I would upload some games, write down the URL and take it to school one day. -

I did it when the teachers werent looking ofc. I even managed to take in a USB stick that wasn't allowed.

my school has a chrome extension called light speed filter agent and it legit blocks YouTube pfps since the file cdn(I think aka yt3.ggpht.com) is classed as mature -

It was easy to bypass some of the restrictions, as one of the admins left a registry key in the administrative shares drive, which allowed me to get around the blocking of some sites.
