I was trying to get Luma running on my 11.4 ds using my r4 sdhc. I managed to flash ntrboot, but when it came to Pressing start, select x and power all together in sleep mode, I just couldn’t get any response. WiFi light was flickering away, power/ sleep light was dimming on and off but the screen was just black.
So I’ve decided not to bother with it.
But now my r4 card is not recognised by the console. So I tried to follow the instructions to reverse the procedure. Even created a folder called luma/ payload. Then pressed start when powering up, and again nothing.
Can anyone help?
I’m using an old 2ds on 11.4.0 37 e. just getting my r4 card to work again would suit me to be honest. I only tried luma, as at the moment no Homebrew is working on my r4 card and I fancied trying to get SNES 9x working.
I’m stumped. Everything I try, nothing seems to work
Thanks

you actually have to power off the system, not just put it into sleep mode, then place the magnet in the correct location, then use the button combo
I did do that but didn’t need to use a magnet as the 2ds has a sleep switch.

If it stayed solid and screens black, your 3ds wasn't able to read the flashcard.
So will I be able to reverse it?

Try putting a piece of paper under the flashcard for better contact.

First you need to get CFW working.

you need to get ntrboot flasher running before you can restore it, and to do that, you may as well install Luma in the process

get GodMode9 from https://github.com/d0k3/GodMode9/releases
put the GodMode9.firm on your SD card and rename it to boot.firm

then place the SD back in your 2ds, and turn off the system flick the switch then hold X+Start+Select then press power for a second or 2
see if GodMode9 boots

What would be the reason for the 3ds not being able to

yes just tried again and the screen flickers slightly, and the light stays solid, then eventually its starts to go on and off.

Bad contact with the flashcard maybe. It should be black and solid as long as you are holding the buttons. Once you stop, it should start to fade.

as @Kubas_inko said,
follow the Frogminer method to mod your system since it does not need the flashcard and can be done for free, then reflash the original firmware back to your flashcard

ok I'm following the frog miner guide, got my sd card ready. It says to put the sd card back in the 3ds and launch frogtool.3dsx from the homebrew menu. How am I supposed to get in the home-brew menu? theres no mention of this unless I've missed it somewhere.

It is mentioned at the start. You need to first complete steelminer in order to gain access to homebrew.
