This is really awesome for everyone on the team! After playing through the PS4 version, it's gonna be neat seeing the 3DS version in English.

The team actually has about 50% of the game fully playable in English. Plus some names where changed to their Japanese ones like Gemma's original name is Emma but changed in the localized version so our patch fixes that issue, Erik is actually spelt Eric but the team are considering altering that to something new that fits his attitude more. Veronica is remaining the same as is Martina. Also concerning a question asked on here a while ago, i shown the main translator and she said she will see about asking around for a way to add the symphonic score to the title providing it can be done. However doing this would prolong the release we originally had from Xmas eve this year to later on next year.

So we leave this choice to you, do we ?

1: Go ahead with our original plan and release the patch on xmas eve this year without the orchestral music?
or
2: Take a little more time and try and transplant the orchestral music?

We actually are thinking of asking Square enix if they would let us translate the actual 3ds version for a retail release but if not we'd just release the patch uncensored like it should be "including the "Puff-Puff" scenes as my brother really enjoys those (facepalm)

I pick option 1. As I have zero interest in the orchestral music.

That is a surefire way of getting a C&D

I think most people including myself will chose option one. The music patch can always wait. Most 3ds fans just want the game in English. Also bad idea about asking square to do it officially.

In all honesty Amanda, the entire team myself included believe that the 3ds version has a nice retro feel to it especially with the 2d option for retro lovers. Our aim is to have the full patch ready by xmas eve new years latest, since we know a lot of fans are eager to play this gem.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I see what you mean plus with us wanting to create our own indie dev team having square on our cases would slow a lot of our ambitions down. And update on the game we want to make we are making a game in honor of our favorite franchise of all time, the Seiken Densetsu series Or for those not in japan the secret of mana series. But with a special twist sadly i can't give any info on our big game plan but we may even post a few sprites or animated ones and this will have voice acting english and if we can afford it japanese too.

I say option 1 release on the originally planned date and maybe release the orchestral patch maybe in February like on Valentine's Day or on the 1Year Anniversary of the game

Yep, all the 'screenshots' are very much photoshopped. Not just the font - there's inconsistent JPEG artifacts and aliasing as well. I mentioned it a page ago and no one seemed to care...

Wow, I was googling for a possible DQXI 3DS translation and I've just happened to find this thread. If this is really a legit attempt at fantranslating the game I'm really hyped for it :hrth:

I already have the Steam version of this game, but my pc specs are far from ideal to run it in a satisfactory way, although it's playable. Furthermore, I'd love to play it in 2D mode, I have a soft spot for traditional snes/genesis 2D jrpgs. It would be like playing the snes version of DQVI that it's not fully translated yet (I know, I can play the DS version but it's not the same "retro-feel")

Nevertheless, thanks a lot for your hard work, guys. I'm subscribing to this thread right now ;)

thank you the translation is legit the photos are edited as the screen shots are a little small so i render them in higher definition I am a member of said team actually im related to the main translator however we are going over what we've done so far and spell checking things before we continue any further.

Those screenshots are very obviously fake with the font size randomly changing both size and position between each image. The font routines in a game like this are highly uniform. And that's not even going into how the font in those screenshots doesn't actually match the resolution of the 3DS, unlike this one.

And rendering a 2D game in a higher resolution doesn't do any of what I mentioned. 3DS games use pre-rendered fonts, not vector fonts, so changing the resolution would not make the font a higher resolution than the 3DS, it would just be the same pixel image but blown up bigger.

Edit: lmao and i reverse image searched those images you posted. The first one is literally just an edit of this official screencap. The rest are probably pulled from random Let's Plays somewhere on the internet. The translation group you claim to be part of is so obviously fake it's hilarious.

Edit 2: And it's pretty obvious that the reason we're never gonna get screenshots of the 3D version is the 3D version has a transparent text box which is harder to fake

Edit 3: And that second screenshot was pulled directly from Nintendo Everything

Sad news News of our work had caught the attention of sending a message to my head translator saying the following

To ################## We have recently caught the attention of your project and while admirable to attempt this we would like to ask you to stop what your doing before we decide to take legal action , We understand the lack of a localized 3ds version may have upset a few people but we feel that the titles localized didn't do very well overseas If you agree to not continue this no action will be taken against you

Thank you for your time.

And so we regretfully had to comply and instead have decided to from our indie team instead, once again we apologize for any disappointment this brings to users here. But we hope our game we to bring to consoles you will enjoy.

lmao you got caught lying and you made up a fake Cease and Desist email.

Square Enix has a standard C&D format they've used for a number of projects they've shut down, and what you posted is definitely not it. (And you should learn to spell check before trying to fake stuff like that.)

Edit: also you're the only one who ever talked about this so-called fan translation anywhere. How would they have found the supposed translator?
