Its the hardware; it relies on a flaw in the read-only bootrom of certain Switch units that when a certain amount of code is sent, it will cause an error and mistakenly accept unsigned code (what we refer to as a payload). Since the bootrom is read-only, neither we nor Nintendo can modify it (except at the factory before its manufactured which explains the existence of ipatched units).
is there a way to tell before fuse gelee

On one of my consoles I am running SX 1.9 on firmware 5.1.0

Is it possible to get new RetroArch working on it? I want to install it as a .NSP if possible but I was told only SX 2.0 has the custom .NSP option (I don't want to update this console to the new SX OS as it has a lot of bugs)

Albeit, I do have 3 custom media player NSPs installed (the ones created by Cellenseres)

Thanks in advance!

So if I use chou digiorno to update my switch past 4.0.x I can't use my physical games?

Also exfat support I am on 3.0.2 a guide I read said that I need to connect to Internet to download the exfat update, can't I just use chou digiornio? What about using a different file system bite size allocation, similar to what you need to do to get larger than 4gb files on 3ds with fat32?

1)
If you care about downgrading, no you can't and need to make a nogc file (assuming you are using reinx)
If you don't care about downgrading then yes you still can use the physical games

2)
You can install the exfat update with choiNX when you do the system update.

not sure about 3

Installed from eshop and on system not sd card (tried install on both)
Have you installed emunand by any chance or gone to 2.0 on sx os? Alot of my xci games stopped working and as for .nsp games i had legit like hollow knight didn't load either. I think when you install emunand it compresses the sysnand...i don't know for sure but go back to 1.9 for now and get rid of emunand imo

Physical cart? Follow this then except use your CFW of choice

Then you can either use on of the following tools

XCI Installer: ZeroTwoXCI
XCI Converter: dedbae XCI2NSP

If I don't have an sx os is there someway to either run the xci file or perhaps just dumping straight to nsp?

Also what is the point of installing an xci file?

Edit oops nvm missed the xci2nsp converter link... disregard.

XCI files work on all CFW now. However for any that isn't SXOS they either need to be installed using ZeroTwoXCI or converted to NSP then installed onto the system.

Hello guys.
Can anyone tell me in what month was the oldest patched switch bought?
I want to buy a used one on Ebay that is not patched but I don't know how new the console can be without the risk of buying a patched one.

Anything after july of this year is patched. You can check the serial numbers HERE for models that are or aren't patched.

I know of the thread and I consult it every once in a while. But some doubts arise. For example this serial "Xaj40023" Is it non-patched because its bellow XAJ40052X?

So, any console up to june is safe to buy?

Should be, if you want to be safe any consoles before june :)

that first serial you listed seems to be an early CFW model one

i successfully got RCm success on my switch and am about to load my sd card. several things, i have a boat load of downloadable games on my switches SD whats gonna happen to those and can i just copy them to and from sd cards. i do not have access to my firewall or modem to block banning, how do i protect myself from the switch itself? lastly what file structure does my sd card need to be? im using a 64 gb sansdisk micro, but idk if it needs to be FAT32 or exfat, or ntfs"though i doubt it uses ntfs".

Hi guys !

First i apologize for my bad english :(

I'm very new in the scene, so there're many things i don't get yet but i'll probably figure some of them by reading this forum deeply (which already helped me to understand a lot of things <3 )

But i have a few questions i can't find a clear answer, so i'll try to ask :

/1/ If i want to play a xci file, i only need to DL it and drag it into the sd card ?
But what happens if i want to update this game ? The only way to do it is with a nsp file, right ?
So if i want to update my games (xci or nsp), i'll need to use tinfoil ? (i think i read somewhere devmenu isn't working anymore on 6.0 ?)
/1.1/ If i need to use tinfoil, i'll need to install homebrew menu too ?

/2/ I'll use SX os to hack my switch, and i didn't find how to install tinfoil on Sx os. I only found for hekate or reinx, i think :(
Can someone help me with that, plz ?

/3/ I saw on another old post, someone posted the list of zelda BOTW available updates, like
"v0 - the base game
v65536
v131072
v196608
v262144
v327680
v393216
v458752
v524288
v589824
v655360
v720896"

Does anyone knows where can i find those informations about any game ?
It probably would help me to know if i get the latest update or not !

Thanks for your time, and again, i apologize for my poor english :(
