another problem is that the devs cannot ensure a new flaw can be found later if the chain is burnt now.
this is again beneficial to the hacking community.

Yeah I know nothing got patched in 6.0 which is why 2/3rds of the ppl complaining don't understand. Its not the matter of when will devs release a k-exploit, its more of when will Sony patch the exploit among their new OFW's.
But even if they did it still promises nothing since only 1 dev has access to the private 5.55 KE. I got tired of the build up hype and false alarms and just bought a 5.05 system to join the jailbreak banwagon

Assumption is exactly what’s gotten most people on twitter/discord (read:beggars) into this mess.

If they had listened from the start they would have known there was no 5.55 KEX coming anytime soon.

I just bought 2 ps4 pro at the same time, so that I can enjoy both types of games, such as detroit on one console; and the rest under 5.05 on another

I asked about a bounty system for exploits and homebrew (namely Retroarch port).

The devs aren’t interested in enabling piracy any higher right now, it’s all focus on making an SDK equivalent and bringing a proper homebrew scene to the PS4 5.05 group.

As for Retroarch, I got no reply from libretro

Why haven't you released an exploit yet, then? Lazy and selfish?

We keep saying. The exploit will not be released until after it is patched.

The concept is known as a 0-day exploit. In this context, because there are usually only a very limited number of known exploits (or maybe just the one), that exploit will be saved until patched by Sony. That way, the exploit will be usable on the largest number of machines. If the exploit is released prematurely, it will be patched immediately by Sony and it will be wasted. Once it is patched, there is no need to keep it private anymore.

You could always just buy a 5.05 machine.

That sucks. More so for retroarch tbh. I'm not too bothered for a new kernel as I have a 5.05. But retroarch would be extremely nice. I've been messing with the switch release and it's so cool

The lack of Retroarch isn't due to the lack of a 5.55 exploit. 5.05 exploit was released a while ago with homebrew tools using Mira. Nobody has stepped up to port it yet.

Never know but maybe after the switch has had alot of work on it maybe ps4 could be next on there list. Wish I had the skill set to be able to attempt porting

You could always just buy a 5.05 machine.

The concept is that
If this flaw can be kept until the end of PS4's life, we will be able to hack all PS4 at that time.
This is the best way to go and the most threatening thing to Sony.

Slightly off topic: Kiwidog vaguely mentioned today that a Retroarch port is eventually inevitable. @jammybudga777

Afaik the lack of Retroarch stems from lack of interest by the devs through no homebrew SDK equivalent.

However OpenGL should be making an appearance sooner rather than later
