Hey folks, I have a banned switch. Didn't mess with xci nap, just put reinx fpba and some fpba ROMs...BANNED! no big deal really. Question is I've installed a game or two since the ban, they where xci trimmed I believe. When I go to launch it it says games needs an update. If I search the web and find an update for the game, can I sent all the update via nsp format? And then it will work ok? Thanks for any additional advice.

Hi guys, im new here.
I just bought a switch with firmware 4.1.0 and SDXC 128GB card.
Should I update the software to 6.0 for the exfat certificate? Are there better and efficient methods for exfat compatibility?
The console has never been online. I only checked biskeydump (got 0x7000) and and I did nand backup using hekate.
Please help me.

Hi guys. SX OS 1.6 here, I've always had trouble access the actual album no matter which version of SX OS I'm on. The guide says to hold L while selecting the album, but that just gives me the homebrew menu like when I choose with R held down. Anyone know a fix?
Also, I don't know why, but I can find some of the captured videos and screenshots on my memory stick, but not others. All of them were supposed to be stored on the stick and not in the system storage according to the switch album info, but why only some of them are visible?
Thanks for answering!

I have only ever used SX OS with XCI files, how do I update the games (preferably offline) ?
Find an update.nsp for the game

Use this

I just picked up a launch console. Any reason to stay on stock firmware? What exploit technique works the best for it?
Cold/warmboot hax. You can update using choidujourNX + autorcm which I linked just above to get to the latest firmware if you want to update to the latest for game compatibility. RCM + CFW of your choice

Hold out for proper emunand for hacked and sysnand for legal games
Depends on the model of the switch. You can check your serial number against a list HERE. Please don't post your serial number here. Just check against that list and if it's matches then you can hack, if not then you need to wait or get an older model switch.

is there a battery issue for auto rcm until now?
There is an issue if you let it go flat with AutoRCM. The solution from what I've seen is to leave it on charge (plugged into the AC adaptor) for at least an hour

Will it then be better if we disable auto RCM ANC always use the jig?

I'm on 5.1.0. As long as I didn't update using CDJ it's safe to boot into NOS right? This way there no risk of burning fuse if boot into NOS and no risk of switch dying in RCM mode.

What is AutoRCM and should I use it?
Firstly, let’s explain exactly what AutoRCM is. In order to get CFW working on your Switch, you must enter RCM and push a payload, which can be quite a pain in the ass depending on what method you are using to bridge the pins on the right Joycon rail. AutoRCM alleviates this by having your Switch boot directly into RCM. This can be healthier for the Switch as you won’t be tinkering with the Joycon rail on each boot. However, you will be unable to boot your Switch unless you send a payload to it on each boot. If you turn your Switch off periodically and ocassionally would like to boot into OFW (Original Firmware), it’s probably best that you leave AutoRCM behind. However, if you are just interested in running only CFW and do not want to tinker with your Joycon rail on each boot, AutoRCM is for you!

If by NOS you mean OFW booting the console using nintendo's bootloader ( No rcm + no .bin) will burn your fuses the moment you update the console.

I’m kind of curious... considering the fact that have CFW will get you banned if you connect to the internet going into e-shop is a no no then why not set the homebrew to eshop or news? Or maybe do you think this will happen in the future?

Kinda pointless considering just having the switch connected to the internet alone will eventually lead up to a ban regardless of using these things.Airplane mode FTW.

As mentioned in my previous post, my 2nd Switch is on 3.0. If I update to 6.0 with Cdj, can I connect to Horizon OS and go online? Or would Nintendo be able to see my FW doesn't match the burnt fuses?

Why didn't I get banned?

I've been modding my switch since I first got it, which was also around the time when the scene was starting to kick off. I didn't abuse the CDN, but I did install homebrews, and even edited my data for MK8 and Splatoon (nothing too crazy though) AND went online with it. I stopped all modding around the time when SX OS released and all the ban reports started coming in. But I'm really surprised I went under the radar especially after editing and going online with modded MK8 and Splatoon data. Does anyone have an explanation?

What's the best way to get a "clean" NAND backup? Isn't some level of modification necessary to allow for a program to back up the NAND? Also, how do I avoid the battery drain sleep issue with AutoRCM? As long as I have a clean backup there is no brick risk with AutoRCM, right? Does updating via ChoiDujourNX automatically install AutoRCM?

Thanks!
So, one last question, here https://gbatemp.net/threads/important-psa-autorcm-battery-warning.505192/ it says "but you are still unable to charge in RCM.", so, can you please clarify about this? Thanks!
That thread is highly outdated and full of misinformation about AutoRCM; you can charge in RCM with AutoRCM installed but it is much slower. You will find my thread is full of more objective and personally tested information: https://gbatemp.net/threads/psa-man...es-not-turn-off-a-switch-with-autorcm.515402/

If you use ChoiDujourNX to update your firmware offline to firmware 6.0, you will be immediately flagged by Nintendo since it is currently impossible to go to that firmware without going online on account of no cartridges coming with that firmware.

Nintendo being Nintendo I suppose; nobody can predict how and why they do things, even themselves.

If you didn't make a NAND backup before hacking, it is currently impossible to make a clean NAND. Also, AutoRCM does not drain the battery; leaving the console mistakenly in RCM drains battery. Either do not turn off the console and leave it in Sleep Mode or power it off properly by ensuring you always power it off in RCM with either a manual shutdown (holding the power button for 12 seconds) or using the Power Off function in Hekate. And ChoiDujourNX installs AutoRCM by default.

Does updating with a game in cfw burn fuses?
Updating a game does not burn fuses but updating the firmware whether online or with a cartridge will. Downloading the exFAT update online also burns fuses.
