Hi, I've been trying for HOURS to fix my issue. It's pretty simple :
I want to play Wind Waker ( GC version on normal Wii ) with DS4 controller ( aka PS4 ) I downloaded controllers.zip and found the correct vid+pid and edited some buttons to what I like ( because the default is actually horrible )
I RENAME the fie to controller.ini and I put it in my USB root. ( i can't launch HIDTest for some reason. it keeps telling me no config file found or something like that. )
I launch the game, my controller works, but not a single BUTTON HAS BEEN CHANGED. NAtive controller is off, i connected my controller with USB, and I even tried both USB alone AND SD alone. Clearly something is going wrong here. someone PLEASE. help me out. ( the controller works fine, i just want to edit my button inputs )

( EDIT ) Things I have tried : Delete controllers folder after downloading controllers.zip - Try individually SD & USB - Pressing " Share " ( aka select ) in-game ( doesn't bring up anything, people tell me it's supposed to let me edit stuff ) -

You are sure you have it as controller.ini in the root of your SD card and not controller.ini.ini as Windows defaults to hide extensions?

Okay this is driving me bonkers. Games are loading fine. My DS3 works fine over USB, but my Wii U Pro controller connected by USB (same cable & port as used with the DS3, just plugged into the pro instead) just lights up then quickly turns back off. Remote 1st LED constantly blinks, never stops unless I pull the batteries. LED changes with pressing + (like it's changing controller slot) but still will never stop blinking. No nunchuck (not even sure where mine is at the moment) no nothing plugged into remote (tho I do have a CC if absolutely needed, it just wasn't handy when I was trying to get this shit running at 3am). It's the type of remote with motion + built in. Not even wanting or trying to connect anything wirelessly, other than the remote, just over USB.

I had all this working perfectly fine many many years ago. The pro also works just fine (over usb and/or wireless) in Wii U games.

I'm probably using an older version, but it worked before, so I don't see any need to "upgrade" to the latest version just to get it to work like I know it did years ago. Doesn't help the PC I had all my stuff like readme files on won't even boot these days, so I can't even browse that to help figure it out. But the stuff on my external drive, like cfg usb loader and all that's needed for GC games works still, just once the GC game comes up, no pro controller... So I know that I don't have any major stuff wrong in that regard, just the controller is being a bitch for some reason. Like I said, a dual shock 3, a friggin sony controller, works, but the pro, a 1st party nintendo product, won't.

Not the hugest of deals, can still play with the sony pad if must be, but I know it was working before, so it just makes me want to rip my hair out.

wiiu pro doesnt use usb for anything but charging...

wiiupro must be synced before nintendont stars

go to wiiu menu, sync your wiiu pro on your wiiu menu, then do whatever you want and just press A while ingame, also make sure you have maxpads set to 4 and that there isnt gamepad, hid controller or gc controller connected or else wiiu pro wont be 1st player.

It is synced, it's never not been synced as long as i've had it. It works just fine in Wii U games in Wii U mode on the same Wii U, in Wii mode it just does the lights quickly light up and then turn off connected by USB or not. It's not because of another pad connected as #1, only other pads are the ds3 and the remote which I can both move on and off of any slot 1-4 (though the remote won't stop blinking on any slot at all, it will move off of slot 1, no problem letting the ds3 move into slot 1). And never is the ds3 connected at the same time I'm trying to get the pro working.

SON OF A B... got it working...

I could just leave it at that but, oh hell, I'll be nice and say how so if someone else has the same problem in the future they might be helped...

go to wiiu menu, sync your wiiu pro on your wiiu menu,
had to sync it, but not to the Wii U itself in the WiiU menu, had to do it in Wii mode AFTER the game was loaded...worked fine wireless after that... tho I still would swear before congress on a stack of bibles that it used to work via USB but so long as it's working at all, not gonna lose any more rest over it. Remote works fine with CC connected, too.

wiiu pro doesnt comunicate through usb, even when usb connected its pure wireless, you probably just synced way too many stuff on wii mode and knocked off wiiupro default sync off that list.

Would somebody be willing to explain how Nintendont is able to force 480p on PAL games? Does Nintendont have to manually configure the VI for progressive and supply 480p timings to the game, since PAL games don't have that information themselves, or is Nintendont just applying a quick hack to PAL games somehow? I'm told that Devolution doesn't have an option to force 480p, so there's currently no way to play PAL PSO in online mode with progressive output, unless we could hack the game itself to force 480p in 60 Hz mode. If Nintendont has to supply external configuration to enable progressive output in PAL games, then I guess it's impossible to patch the game for 480p directly... :(

nintendont just forces the videomode flags to activate and then gc os does there own thing, that is why it works for some games but not all since the flag activated could force code that some games wont work with, nintendont does not make any external support other than flag activation.

Are those Wii/iOS video mode flags, or are they GC flags that games with native 480p set when you say yes to the 480p prompt? If they're game flags, then it might be possible to hack a game to force set that flag, even if the game doesn't really support 480p, and then Wii would try to use 480p mode without the intervention of a loader like Nintendont.

nintendont hardcode changes the gc os, i dont think an iso can change that, also if i remenber correctly, PSO games cant be forced to anything or they crash on nintendont.

OK, that's kind of what I thought: you need a loader to modify the system to allow 480p on PAL games, because they don't have the code to enable progressive mode on their own. A player told me yesterday that he played PAL PSO in 480p with Nintendont, and it looked great. You just can't go online that way, and Devolution doesn't have Nintendont's ability to force 480p on PAL games. :(

Thanks for the help!

Whats up guys, here is my problem when loading a gamecube game with Nintendont:

So, when I load it directly with HBC, it print "Warning: USB FAT device could not be opened." and when loading throught USBLoaderGX "CheckForMultiGameAndRegion() failed."

And this is happening randomly, sometimes it works, sometimes i get the errors, this wasn't happenning before, it always worked flawlessly, the only change i made recently was updating Nintendont from 5.484 to 5.485. Any suggestions?

delete your nintendont conig.bin on sd root and redownload nintendont boot.dol
