Hey guys, first I got to really thank you for this project, RPG Maker is one of my favorite platforms and this is just awesome!
I wanted to know if it's still working as of 11.6, since mine just won't load games.
I'm currently on a non-cfw old 3ds on 11.6.0-39U using oothax 2.9.
I can launch easyRpg just fine, but when I try to launch Ib what seems like a loading bar just barely starts to fill and stops, and I tried waiting for an hour.
The game works fine on easyRpg for windows, and I have put the rtp files inside 2000/2003 respective folders.
Can someone confirm this, or help me otherwise? Thanks a lot :D

Do you get to see the EasyRPG logo? If you don't, then try editing the .xml included in the homebrew folder, changing the <targets selectable="true"> line from "true" to "false" (it should be set to "true" by default), then try to boot the player again. If it's set to false, then try deleting the .xml then boot the player

We usually don't work on new features for the 3DS version but we still provide updates and EasyRPG Player is under active development.

The latest 3DS-exclusive improvements: A visual warning on startup when the DSP firmware is missing and the touchscreen shows now a visual indicator which button was pressed.

Why not dump the DSP firmware if it is missing? Though it would require separate code for the cia and 3dsx version since the cia version would need to dump it from the home menu .code section like DSP1 does.

@LiquidFenrir ported my DSP1 to work as a library here, so it should be easy to add dsp firm dumping to any application.

If you mean the program and not Ib's game logo, then yes, I can start easyRpg just normal, it's only when I go to load a game that it crashes. A "Loading" box shows up but nothing happens after that.
I tried editing the .xml file (it's the one inside the easyRpg folder right?) it was set to true, but even after setting it to false it still did the same thing. Deleting it only made the program not even start and freeze on a red screen.
I might be doing something silly, maybe with the rtp folders... both rtp folders with all their files go inside the 2000/2003 folders respectively right? Not the .exe that the rtp comes when downloaded.
Also, the .txt log file doesn't show any errors, though a strange 0 fps was there.

When the game browser opens changing the XML file doesn't matter anymore. The XML target title is only used to overwrite the target code with the Easyrpg executable.
No idea how Ib can crash, that game should work for sure. Did you also try other games?

The "Framerate is 0 FPS" once in the log is a bug, can be ignored.

So, I was testing things out a bit and something really weird happened. I still can't start Ib by itself, but I decided to download Yume Nikki to try and see it. Turns out that Yume Nikki works normally and not only that, all other games, including Ib also load after I quit Yume Nikki and load them without exiting the program. One thing to be noted is that the 2.9 hax is EXTREMELY unstable, freezing homebrew at a yellow screen many times, and it might be affecting easyRpg :/

I can't use EasyRPG at all. Upon launching I get "Error: ux0:/data/easyrpg-player is not a valid path"
I have checked several times over that I do have the folder in that location named completely exact. I don't know how to fix it.

Edit: Whoops, wrong thread.

Where should I put that damn RTP folder ?!
I get "Image not found" in any way...
I tried :
\microSD\3ds\easyrpg-player\rtp\2000\
\microSD\3ds\easyrpg-player\data\rtp\2000\
\microSD\3ds\data\rtp\2000\
\microSD\3ds\data\easyrpg-player\rtp\2000\
\microSD\data\rtp\2000\

No one works. Get tired of this shit! (I use .cia version)

I noticed that in some parts of .flow, the game crashes (the Industrial Maze area, for example), it is possible to complete the game?

Also, games like Touhou-A-Live and Mario&Luigi - The seven sages cannot run, they crash at the very beginning. Are those impossible to emulate?

I don't think the project is completely dead considering there has been a test build released about 10 days ago. But as it stands there are too many bugs.
I have the same problem someone else state above with the 0.5.3 version (stable) where I can't start any other game least I run Yume Nikki first, otherwise it just freezes while loading or it kicks me to the Home Screen with a error message.
None of the test builds even run (on a real hardware at least), they all either hang in the easyrpg logo screen or I get kicked to the home screen, again, with an error. I know they aren't supposed to be tidy and neat, but to not even run is a bit of stretch.
Anyway I'm reporting this in here in the hopes that the people working on the project doesn't give up, it did be awesome to be able to play RPG maker games on my 3DS. I'm using a N3DS by the way.

It's been a while since Rinne stopped working on EasyRPG for 3DS (like, a long while...). Nevertheless, I'm not encountering these issues on latest stable, whether new or old 3ds, both boot just fine and only encounter issues when playing games

Try downloading the latest stable version from the website instead, the version uploaded to TitleDB must be a nightly if it's constantly updating the download with the "latest" release

Edit: FBI will catch the download if you manually enter the full url

Rinne isn't involved in this anymore since at least one year. The (very low priority maintanance) is now done by the normal easyrpg devs. Though I don't have a 3ds, I always have to ask my brother if I can use his (when he is not busy playing Pokemon ;)). But instead of coding I mostly play Dragon Quest VIII *cough*.

Well, today is your lucky because we are currently fixing the 3DS build. It is broken because libsf2d is deprecated, we migrated to citro2d/3d. As a side effect this fixes the annoying flickering issues and improves the screen scrolling (imo). We hope this will stay stable now until the 3DS is not produced anymore because these are the official libraries by the devkitPro authors.

I also found the source of the random game startup crashes (except when the game hits the memory limit, this will still crash ;)), but any game that worked before will work again.

Also we found some performance improvements which give up to 20% more FPS.
Also the BGM music is now much better with far less noticable "gaps/audio glitches". :)

Semi-OT: One of the changes also affects the PS Vita build, if you also have a PS Vita (I don't :() please give this version a try and give feedback: https://gbatemp.net/threads/release...player-for-psvita.437040/page-11#post-8300179
