Well I did exactly what you said but Flora's not recruited in conquest at chapter 8 and I don't know why.
Without seeing exactly what you did it's hard to say what went wrong, especially because I don't use hans, so I'll start from the top.

1. You have your gay hack gamedata.bin. If you haven't already, make sure the gay hack works correctly before doing anything else.
2. Decrompress your gamedata.bin with batchlz77
3. Apply the IPS patch "FloraEarlyGameData.ips" to your decompressed gamedata.bin
4. Recompress your patched gamedata, bin with batchlz77 and rename it to gamedata.bin.lz if the name was changed.
5. Copy the "GameData" and "m" folders from the early flora hack into your romfs folder. If prompted to replace files or merge folders, choose yes.

From there you should be able to run it as you did when using just the gay hack.

It would be awesome if you came out with versions for this and the awakening one without support options. I know there's a whole changelog that shows which ones actually have conversations, but it would be nice to be able to see while playing who you can match up instead of having it open and searching for it every time or trying to remember. I'm much more interested in rp than mechanics so support options don't interest me at all. Also, and most probably already asked, but has anyone approached unassuming venasaur with prewritting conversations that could be added for the ones that are missing or is that not why they arent there. It probably takes a lot of work because you have to have the characters making their faces or blushing according to the script.

Hi, I'm on a older version of this hack and I was wondering, Can you update the hack without any trouble(screwups with supports and such)?

Under the changelog for 0.6.1 what do these 2 things mean?
  • Edited Forrest/Leo to accommodate same sex couples
  • Reverted the M!Corrin/Forrest C back to its original form

Honestly this hack is holy. I remember it was literally this that made me crack my 3DS a couple years ago. lol. Nice one on this and the awakening hack.

Are you running the hack through an edited CIA or through luma? I've done both before, and have had no troubles (even when fully re-making a cia with the latest patch when that was still a thing) with keeping supports. If you're running it through luma, which is preferable, there should also be no problem - there never was for me, anyway. Assuming of course that you back up your save beforehand and then restore it to the new updated CIA or when you've updated your luma TID romfs. Even if something did happen to go wrong, you'd always have your save to go back on, but it should honestly be fine, since there's really no difference here between one 3DS and another. I'm obviously not the creator, but still, from past experience there really should be nothing to worry about.

Is it still recommended to use a fresh file for this to avoid random issues?
I've started a Revelation save recently (Special Edition), i'm halfway through and want to marry my female Corrin with Selena. Probably won't need anymore same-sex marriages after that, I just like Selena lol
Problem is that I got this far into the save with the normal game, unsure what will happen if i try to patch the game (With luma method) now and try to do the marriage.

EDIT: I took the plunge to see what would happen. The patch worked, but my character supports seem to be somewhat corrupted, the units have supports with random other units instead of the ones they used to have supports with. I can't say I'm surprised, assuming this is the extent of the damage done I'll try and use FEFTwiddler to restore my old supports (Assuming it even works with this patch...) to the best of my memory and work it from there.

Further edit: Okay yeah FEFTwiddler doesn't want to edit supports from this patch. Maybe I'll just delete all the supports and do them again, lets see what I can do...

One more edit I swear: I managed to use FEFTwiddler's hex editor (Which has separate sections for each of the part of the units info so its easy) to wipe out all of my units supports. That cleaned out all the corrupted supports and I don't think anything else is affected (Since nobody has actually got married yet so its just rankings), I just now get to build up all the supports again, hooray!

From what I hear and done, it's better to do a fresh save after installing the hack so no one has supports.

Yeah I read that too, my problem was that I started a file before realising I'll need this hack, and i didn't feel like redoing 13 chapters just for the sake of marrying Selena.

It worked though, you just have to delete all the existing supports and the hack seems to function okay, it's probably to do with them being at different addresses and the game gets confused. The same bug happens if you start a file with the hack and then disable the hack, the supports go weird.

I believe I've got it working on citra, and it was actually pretty easy. Any of the many more knowledgeable posters can feel free to correct me if anything I have posted is wrong.

Please forgive the lack of hyperlinks. Gbatemp won't let me post any yet.

To apply the hack itself you will only need a way to extract and rebuild the rom. I used Asia81's HackingToolKit3DS.
Note: the version you want depends on whether your rom is decrypted or encrypted. Decrypted roms need version 9, while encrypted roms need version 11. If you aren't sure, yours is probably decrypted.

To apply any of the patches, such as the unlock all paralogues patch or the early flora patch, you will also need Lunar IPS to apply the patch and BatchLZ77 (there are other programs, but that's the one I used) to decompress and compress the GameData.bin.

Applying the romhack:
1. Create a backup of your rom in case something goes wrong.

2. Download and install the correct version of HackingToolkit3DS. Place your rom in the PackHack folder with the HackingToolkit3DS.exe. Run the HackingToolkit3DS.exe and enter D, to extract the rom. It will then prompt you to enter the name of your rom WITHOUT the file extension. Type that in, then press enter again. The box should then say that it is extracting the rom. This can take a little while, so be patient. When the program is done extracting the rom it will say so, and prompt you to return to it's main screen.

3. After the rom is done extracting, you should have a bunch of files and folders in the PackHack folder that weren't there before. The important one if the ExtractedRomFS folder. Open it, and copy and paste the files from the Gay Hack Luma version appropriate to your rom. The readme in the Luma Version folder will tell you which folder has the files for your rom, so read it. When prompted, copy and replace the files you are putting into the ExtractedRomFS folder.

If all you want is the base hack, then all thats left is to rebuild the rom - skip to step 5.
If you want to apply any of the patches, there are a few more steps - proceed to step 4.

4. To apply the unlock all paralogues patch, first we need to decompress the GameData.bin file. It is found in the ExtractedRomFS\GameData. Download BatchLZ77 and copy your GameData.bin to the BatchLZ77 folder. Run BatchLZ77.exe, click decompress and choose the GameData.bin. When done it will create a larger file named GameData.bin.decompressed.

Next, download and run Lunar IPS. Click Apply IPS Patch, and then choose the ParalogueGameData.ips file downloaded as part of the gay hack folder, in Gay Fates\v0.6.1\All Paralogues Unlocked Patch (this is the patch we are applying). Next Lunar IPS will ask you to choose the file to apply the patch to, which is your decompressed GateData.bin file.

After this is done, run BatchLZ77 again, this time clicking compress, and choose your decompressed GameData.bin file. It will add compressed to the name of the file, and should now be named GameData.bin.decompressed.compressed (assuming you haven't changed the file name yourself). Rename it to GameData.bin and put it back in the ExtractedRomFS\GameData folder, replacing the GameData.bin that is still there.

5. Now we need to rebuild the rom. Run HackingToolKit3DS.exe again, this time entering R to rebuild the rom. It will ask you for the rm name - type it in just as before, press enter, and wait for it to finish rebuilding. The program will say when it is done, and when done will create a new rom file with _Edited added to the name (so if your rom was named Fates, the rebuild rom should be named Fates_Edited). If you applied the gay hack, the new rom file should also be larger than the original.

If you want to apply any other patches such as flora joining early, they are done in much the same way as the paralogues patch. You can apply both IPS patches to your decompressed GameData.bin before recompressing it.

For the Flora joining early patch you will also need to either copy and replace some files in the ExtractedRomFS\GameData folder, or apply further IPS patches if you don't want to overwrite the files being modified (which should only be an issue if you are using other hacks or patches. if all you have applied is the gay hack, there should be no issue copying and replacing, all of which is covered in the readme).

Once you have finished rebuilding your rom, you are done. Run the rebuilt version with citra and consider whether this was worth the trouble or not.

Hi I've tried to follow your guide for applying the Hack but I get stuck on step 2. Whenever I try to extract the ROM nothing happens and no files appear. I've tried typing out the name of the ROM and even tried copy pasting it because I wouldn't have been surprised if I made a typo, but after HackingToolkit3DS says that the extraction is done no files appear in the PackHack folder. I've even tried using both V9 and V12 of HackToolkit3DS as I wasn't sure whether my ROM was encrypted or decrypted and even tried using the entire file location (C:\users\ etc.), but that also did nothing. For the record I downloaded the ROM from a site which had me download it in 2 separate parts that had to be extracted at the same time, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. Can you help me?

Quick question: If I were to install the hack that switches Felicia and Jakob's recruitment order along side this would I be able to start a game from the branch of fates option on the main menu or would I have to start a new game from chapter 1 for it to take effect. I'm only asking in this thread because it's more active than the tread specifically about that one.

Usually it's safe to start a new game, I say for the mod you're using, from chapter 1 to be safe unless someone with experience says otherwise.

Considering Felicia/Jakob (The first one) doesn't officially join you until after you've chosen a path I think it should be okay, however they may have slightly lower stats if its the oppposite one to who you used previously to create the branch of fates option

It's been a few months since I updated this, and I'm looking to start back up work so for now, even though I didn't get everything done I wanted, I'm going to make an update, V 0.6.2, with all the support conversations I've added since the previous update. Since I didn't get everything I wanted done, this one is very disproportionately f/f--apologies for that.

  • Miscellaneous Support Option Revisions
  • Added C-S Support Conversations for:
    • Selena x Hana
    • Selena x Mozu
    • Azura x Rinkah
    • Azura x Kagero
    • Azura x Mozu
    • Azura x Orochi
    • Azura x Peri
    • Rhajat x Soleil
    • Rhajat x Sophie
    • Rhajat x Nina
    • Rhajat x Ignatius
    • Rhajat x Velouria
    • Rhajat x Midori
    • Rhajat & Female Kana
    • Rhajat x Siegbert
    • Elise x Hayato
    • Niles x Xander
  • Added C-A Support Conversations for:
    • Selena & Rhajat
    • Selena & Soleil
    • Azura & Shiro
    • Azura & Female Kana
    • Azura & Siegbert
  • Added Family Support Conversations for:
    • Shigure & Rinkah P/C
    • Shigure & Kagero P/C
    • Shigure & Mozu P/C
    • Shigure & Orochi P/C
    • Shigure & Peri P/C
    • Shigure & Selena P/C
    • Male Kana & Rhajat P/C
    • Rhajat & Elise P/C
    • Siegbert & Niles P/C
    • Nina & Xander P/C

Which files actually change between updates?

Copied from the Good Guy Garon instructions for using Luma layeredfs:

Boot up your 3DS Luma’s config menu by holding the SELECT button.
Turn on “Enable Game Patching”
On your 3DS SD card go to “Lumas” folder.
Create a folder called “titles” if there isn’t one
Copy the "000400000017A800" folder (this is the one for the EU special edition) from the "Luma Version" folder into your "titles" folder
