Team Rebug SwitchMe UP - Modchip installed and working

PROJECT STATUS NEWS UPDATE: July 17th - Team REBUG has gotten their Switch Modchip Up and Running Perfectly! :)
SwitchMeUp-Installed.jpg

The last update we had from Team REBUG on their project status was back on July 4th, that they got in the 'final prototype' PCBoards and now they had time to assemble them, polish up the coding a bit, and installed one in their Nintendo Switch consoles and below we present to you the very first video of it booting up and working, along with the latest Tweets from their project team leader.

Mod chip works :)

I've tested a few configurations with rcm strapping, hardware auto RCM and software RCM. Easiest by far is software auto RCM and a easy 4 wire install. Oh no case bluge :)

Seeing Videos are just better, here you go :P

Nintendo Switch Mod Chip 4 wire install (just showing off without auto rcm) 3 Clicks and its off to OZ :)

Huge thanx to everyone involved in the Switch Scene!

They have done crazy shit in the past like the awesome XboxLCD... we never know.
So far all they have done recently was develop a single app for the switch and sell it for 25$.
But most importantly: Why wanting a closed source hardware that does nothing differently than a cheap open-source Trinket M0?

Hate to break it to all you waiting for a tx internal mod chip, seeing they asked if they can just buy ours... They have zero intrest of making their own.

Yes it will be cheaper in bluk orders for the installers. We have broken out even more pads for the release version so these aren't just limited to the switch. Renders will be up later along with a page on rebug.me

For the ones saying it's not open source? It is and will always be. So if you want to solder all the components on yourself by all means well give you a bare board at cost to do so + the bom

Well also be releasing an app to flash it so you don't need to install the Arduino ide. You can even just drag the ready made payloads directly to the device just like the trinket when put in bootloader mode.

I'm just thinking about unit cost.

The atmels are what... £6? Boards each... Pence?

Shipping...

Not making much are you?

Nice idea and design, just can't see any money to be made.

But from rebug dex days money isn't important and that should be applauded.

Nice one :)

I’m actually really excited for this, great job! I’ll certainly be buying one! Even if you sell the design the TX, it’s still a huge accomplishment what you’ve developed, more than I’ve done haha!

That would mean that they have no wire to sense the switches state which means the SAMD they use is always on, not even sleep mode. Resulting in a significant battery drain!

sorry? Sense wire? Not needed, you solder the 3v wire to the cap near pin5 of M92T36 which only has power with the switch powered on so no need to know the switch state just power it off because it essentially coldboots.

I'm guessing shipping to EU will make it considerably more expensive?
Nope we have people in the EU that will have hundreds of them to ship out over there for all of you :)
We have rebug team members in USA, France, germany, Lebanon, Egypt, and a few other countries.
We're really trying to keep costs down for everyone.
There really isn't any $ to be made on these things and that's fine by us, we just had fun making it and would like to bring more to the market :)
We might even adapt this same design for an external dongle in the very near future and the mark up wouldn't be bad because it would only need 3 more components.

Yes we are cheaper than the trinket, and you can use this as a dev board as well. We have put extra pads on the bottom for various other projects.
As for "auto RCM" you have options, either strap line or software. There is no getting around that, so for you people complaining this is a trinket it IS a trinket (like any m0+ device) with all the useless trash removed and cheaper, as well as smaller and thinner to fit it in the switch better. The video I posted wasn't with auto rcm enabled hence me clicking the back 3 times. So for those of you looking for a cold boot into cfw without hardware or being tethered to a dongle/computer keep dreaming,
because you would need a full on cold boot sploit which doesnt exist at this current moment (and might never at this point)
I will have preorder pricing up on the site later today.

ES is there an install tutorial video that you would recommend?

@evilsperm is there source to the UF2 you are using? I know it`s got the trinket bootloader, just need the pinouts you are using, or can put my own in. Going to add support to my internal SAMD thread and build some files. Cheers

Never mind. Added it to my thread.
