Mobile game Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition comes to Switch, PS4, and XB1

Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition is a chibi-ified mobile adaptation of Final Fantasy XV, which released earlier this year. It was ported exclusively to the Windows Store, as well, on June 6. Now, the game is coming to consoles, with a surprise launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One today. The entire game and all its chapters cost $29.99 on both platforms, but there currently is a 40% off launch sale. Square Enix also revealed that there is currently a Nintendo Switch version in the works, which was likely supposed to be in the delayed Direct, and that it will launch later this year.

Well this kind of make sense for the Switch but there's no reason to port this game to the PS4 and Xbox One
I was kind of thinking this too, then again, they didn't take the chance to say that the original isn't coming to the Switch.

So, it might be best to wait, unless you plan to buy both for some reason.

Not sure if lazy cash grab or blatantly ripping off gamers.

I know this is a mobile port, but damn, the Switch could do much better. Heck even a 3ds get games that look better.

Loved the freedom of the original, enjoyed the super linear easy going aspect of the pocket one .... That said... Well I think that's about all I can say about that really..

Thats cool to see that they are considering a FFXV port to the switch even though its the mobile version.
Never tried a final fantasy game before so this might be my first final fantasy

it's ok square enix, we all had our dosis of final fantasy xv already, you can move on and develop something else.

it is me or the harder they try the worst the project is becomes? they clearly didn't wanted to pull off another final fantasy xiii (at least in the mixed popularity aspect) and so they poured all their resources into this game, but backfired even harder because final fantasy xv has people even more divided.
I personally enjoyed the first half but the second half and specially towards the end it becomes dull and the final boss didn't convinced me. overall good though, but only good when could have been a lot better.

They really are milking this mediocre game as much as they can aren't they
It's because they developed an entire new engine for this game, the luminous engine I think it was called and developing a new engine costs tooooooons of money hence why they're doing this because they want the costs back of developing an entire new again. The first gameplay trailers of KH3 was btw on that same engine but they switched to the Unreal engine 4 after that because of reasons

Instead of making the actual game for the Switch with no matter what kind of downgrades, they port the one from smartphones which I don't even consider a game but oh well...

The fact that it's streamlined compared to the original makes me prefer this version, but the price point is a joke. I could get the Royal Edition on these same consoles for less than what these "chapters" go for.
