Does anyone know which third-party gba-link cables work? I bought the Tomee one, and it will recognize that a gba is plugged in, but it errors if it tries to transfer data.

It might depend on the cable itself. I've got two of the same brand that I bought together (don't remember which) - one works with Nintendont and one doesn't, but they both work in regular GameCube mode.

So I got a component cable for the wii and put 480p in settings. But when I boot up a game it goes black until I press a to select 60ghz ( it is a pal rom ) then the image shows up normally . Maybe component cable doesn’t support 50ghz ?
Is there a setting to automatically launch 60 ghz ?

EDIT : I know there’s an option called “force progressive” but it doesn’t work. It makes the screen black and nothing happens.

Most PAL games replace the 480p prompt with the 60Hz prompt. Only like 2 PAL GC games support 480p mode. You need NTSC games if you want progressive output on Wii; the only way to get progressive output with PAL games is to use Dolphin.

The 60ghz mode works. And forcing progressive works for a lot of games

try forcing force ntsc videomode and force progressive for 480p pal games, some will work some wont but it works in alot of games.

No... on nintendont you can force videomodes on pal games and ntsc games, some work perfectly and some dont but most do, you can get pal 480p just fine by forcing ntsc videomode and force progressive.

@FIX94 I stumbled upon some Widescreen patches for Mario Kart Double Dash, Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Zelda Wind Waker and Mario Sunshine which not only do they alter the 3D models to not be stretched, but they also move the HUD to the corners and also modifies the HUDs and Menus to not be stretched as well, and even fixes rendering issues with some of the existing Widescreen hacks.

Here are all of the ones I could find:

Wind Waker:

Super Mario Sunshine:

Mario Kart Double Dash:

Sonic Adventure DX:

Sonic Adventure 2:

(Each video has the patch in the description)

However, I noticed that the Widescreen patches themselves are in XDelta format, so I am not sure if these ones can be implemented into Nintendont's code like how the existing Widescreen patches are right now.

Could these be implemented into Nintendont's source code for those games?

To my knowledge, xdelta implies a whole game modification, and that probably weighs a lot for such changes.

xdelta mean they change the iso and not only code, they probably even have pictures themselves in widescreen to replace some textures and such so yeah you can do that to your iso but nintendont doesnt have content to replace like an xdelta patch does.

try forcing force ntsc videomode and force progressive for 480p pal games, some will work some wont but it works in alot of games.

I found out what was making it crash man. It is a bad rom. See :

Normal opening clip :

It is the opening clip that is corrupted and it is making nintendont crash on the wii.
Is there a way to fix the rom or make it work anyway ? Or do I need a better rom ? ( which is rare nowadays )

Hey guys, so I've been having a really bizarre problem. For the longest time, I've used my Wii U Hori Battle Pad to play games on Nintendont with 0 problems. Just recently however, when I start a game up, the controls are all swapped around up all of a sudden. To give an example, when I press B, the game registers it as having pressed A. When I press Y, the game registers it as X. This has never been an issue before and I'm confused why this is happening now. I've never been rough on the controller to the best of my knowledge.

When I switch over to a game on the Wii U, the controls are just fine and everything goes exactly as it should.

If anyone has had a similar issue and knows a fix, or knows anything about what might be going on here, help would be very appreciated. If any extra information is required, I am happy to provide.

Thanks!

Try to reinstall nintendont on your sd card or try other controllers if you have.

you cant fix a bad rom, just try and find a new one and check the md5 of the rom before using to make sure its good.

You shouldn't assume that without seeing what the patch modifies, though. It's probably changing lots of FP constants used for 2D element positioning and scaling, and it's possible to do such patches in memory, as well. Some or all of the improvements might be possible to add to Nintendont.

on ww video besides the widescreen patch he uses an hd texture pak wich contains new textures its on the decription, you cant unstretch 2d picture elements with code alone.

Same for sunshine

mkdd is the only one which is only 49.5kb wich just looks like a normal widescreen patch like nintendont does tbh.

on sonic adventure its a xdelta with 14mb, wich for sure has textures because there is no way you a code patch ever reaches 14mb, a code only patch is always afew kbs.

SA2 says the patch has issues with chaos garden so its no good to port it imo and its 3mb so i bet it has some textures too.

It depends on the game. Ralf recently discovered that PSO 1&2 has an unused 2D scaling function that you can use to fix the HUD and menu aspect ratio without replacing any textures. It's certainly possible that other people have discovered similar functionality in other games.
