As the title asks, can any of the NDS flashcarts available these days load GBA roms onto the EZ Flash V 3 in 1 Expansion pack? I used this alot with my EZ flash, and i think i remember using it with AK2i as well (not 100% sure). I just discovered my EZ Flash still works and even had a rom loaded :O

I can't exactly find how to load a rom onto one of those, but if it was done with a special .nds file then I don't see why it wouldn't work. My R4i Gold 3DS + has configuration stuff for it in the kernel, so I'd assume it's still possible.

you use homebrews like xploader and there are others designed to write roms into it
IIRC while the NDS EZ cards have built in stuff. there where plenty of homebrew to use the 3in1 for all other kind of nds cards

Awesome, i have one of those on the way in the mail.

I found the ExpLoader mentioned above too, it works great too.

More or less all of them should work. I know Wood R4/AceKard works, but even TTDS clones should have support. Those are the two main types of R4 clones you'll find.
Thanks for the heads up on that, going to hold off on going too far into anything then :)
No worries, they should just be in raw format dumped directly off the save chip, so they should work with any flashcart/ExpLoader and most GBA emulators as well. Although if the game had to be SRAM patched to save then it will also need to be SRAM patched if you want to use the same save in an emulator.

The difference is that wood has built in support while dstt requires an external application. A bit less convenient.
I had a case where a save made with the ievo didn't work with wood. Additionally there can be problems with filenames and folders

I think the DSTT clones have built in support though.

Allright, my R4 Gold has arrived and I am testing it out now. It loads GBA games with ease and puts the saves right with the file, this is loading to RAM(or PSRAM?), the game is loaded up every time. When i load a game to NOR for quick access, it seems to not be consistantly saving, and ive had a couple of times ended up loading a previous save.

How does Wood R4 deal with saves when loading roms to NOR compared to RAM?

YSMenu might have one, idk but the clones from r4i-sdhc.com/r4isdhc.com don't have inbuilt support for sure.
IIRC, YSMenu does support booting GBA games using the 3-in-1, but it doesn't support writing to it.

If someone wants to take full advantage of the 3-in-1, their best bet is using either an R4i Gold Plus with Wood R4 or the Ak2i.

I did, my R4i Gold Plus arrived today, it works grear, but wondering how it does saves when using NOR, compared to SRAM

I am not going to lie to you, but I don't know the answer to that question since I never owned a 3-in-1. The M3 Lite was cheaper and accomplished playing GBA games, so I used that until the DSTWO came out and the battery in my M3 Lite died.
