Rayman to be added to Brawlhalla's roster on November 6th

DmII4alW4AA11vr.jpg

Indie 2D party fighters have been becoming popular lately, especially with some of their rosters getting guest stars, much like how Rivals of Aether added Shovel Knight to its cast last month. Now, the free-to-play Brawlhalla has received its own new fighter in the form of Rayman. While it might seem like an odd choice at first glance, Ubisoft, who owns Rayman, purchased the developer of Brawlhalla, Blue Mammoth Games, in its entirety earlier this year. While this isn't tantamount to Rayman being in Smash Bros., you'll be able to duke it out as Ubisoft's platformer mascot character when he becomes available in Brawlhalla on November 6th. Brawlhalla is currently playable on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Guess we really isn't going to see him in Smash at all anymore... RIP.

Ugh, stop teasing me Ubisoft. I just want another Rayman platformer in the style of legends or origins, but I've almost lost all hope at this point. Instead they have opted to port legends to almost every platform under the sun. I'm glad that more people have gotten to experience legends via the ports (it's one of my favorite 2d platformers out there), but it's about time that ubisoft finally made a new 2d rayman platformer. Back on topic, I really wasn't expecting Rayman to be in smash ultimate anyways tbh. So it's kinda neat to at least see Rayman in some kind of brawler.

Would be a good thing to see him in Smash. Not only as a trophy. He's been around for a good while, more than many characters already in smash.

It's like trying to be a coach for the NFL, but instead, ending up as a coach of a high school football team. Oh well, it could be worse, he could have ended up in Sony Smash Bros 2.

Am I the only person that doesn't want Rayman in Smash? Don't get me wrong, I like Rayman - Rayman 1 still stands as one of, if not my favorite games.
I just don't think he's an interesting character or that he'd have a fun moveset. Literally the only thing I'd like out of Rayman in Smash would be some professional remixes of Rayman 1's soundtrack.

I think you made a typo, you wrote « 2d » instead of « 3d » ;)
Don’t get me wrong, I loved Legends and Ray1 is one of my favorite games, but I truly miss the gloomy weirdness of Rayman 2 and 3...

I play brawlhalla off and on a bunch so this is good to hear, its no doubt the best platform fighter on PC (although the community is extremely "toxic" for lack of a better word)

You're right! It's not like they made many 2D platforms other than Origins and Legends. They only made the first Rayman, the sequel on Game Boy, the mobile version of Rayman 3, the GBA version of Raving Rabbids, two exclusive Android games and the endless custom Rayman levels on PC. Fuck them!

If there was a dislike button I would use it on this post.

For one thing, Legends and Origins are both far cries from the older Rayman games. Secondly, it has been 5 years since the last Rayman platformer. No, the mobile endless runners don't count.

Origins came out ages after the last 2D platform Rayman game. There's literally no way to top anything past Legend unless they bring serious money on the table. Something that Ubisoft will never do unless the bastard brother of the Rayman franchise (the rabbids) is involved. Be glad that these last two games came out at all XD

I don't like Brawlhalla. The soundtrack is so bad that it's getting on my nerves and this "skeleton-animation" thing they do with the characters turns me off.

Good for Rayman to be there anyway. :-)
