Long story short,
1. I connected my Micro Sd card to my PC (for the second time)
2. Copied a game on it
3. Disk becomes corrupted
4. All files on SD card has weird letters. (ie :1.)))))))))d
5. Possible to recover my .sav file?

Wierd letters arent showing up in this post.

I dont know if the game had anything to do with it.

This happened to me once.

I had to reformat. Nothing else worked. Through a few hours of toiling I managed to save the files, but they were corrupted beyond repair. Just reformat. You'll lose all your save files but it's all you can do

I suggest backing up your save files every time you plug in your card to the computer (Keep some saves folder on your desktop and drag/drop your .savs every time you plug it in.)

DON'T REFORMAT YET, IF YOU WANT YOUR SAVES.
Download/torrent a program called GetDataBack. (Demonoid/Mininova have it)
Run it, recover your MicroSD.
Copy files to a folder.
Then reformat.

I was able to recover all my saves using it.

Backing up your saves is easy as Copy + Paste onto your Desktop/into a folder.

Next time, get into the habit of this. It'll save you tons of time.

It's just sav files, like 512 kb each. And I use two 2 gigs.

Jeez...

You really need two 2 GB Flash Drives to store your DS saves?

According to my calculations, if you take 2GB and divide it by the size of each R4DS Save. (512kb)

2GB/512KB = About 3905 Saves...

Hell, you could fit every save of each ROM on there right now if you wanted to.

It just sometimes does it out of the blue.

I used Lameboy once and I saved in Links Awakening, and it left a 0 kb, undeletable file on my MicroSD. and Files kept disapearing.

It started to not be read by my R4, so I checked it out and it was empty. So I reformatted it and it works perfect ever since. Good thing I backed up my saves.

(I can't confirm the GetDataBack thing... Sorry)

How do you connect your Micro SD card to the computer? Because i use to use SD card adapters and plug them into my card reader, and for some reason every 4-5 days the Micro SD card would become corrupt and it wouldn't let me copy anything to it or take anything from it. So i then bought another Micro SD card USB reader (lost the one that came with my R4) and my Micro SD card hasn't become corrupt for 3 week straight.

Hmm.. All I know is the Silver/Black reader that comes with the R4 is complete, utter crap.

I use the MicroSD Adapter that comes with my Kingston MicroSD. Very fast transfering speeds and never corrupted for me; unlike the R4 adapter.

My SD adapter was a SanDisk, that could be a reason, or a crappy card reader but i haven't got the silver/black USB reader anymore, that's the one i lost and the few times i did use it it was crap. I bought a different one from some computer shop in Australia and it works great.

Naw, SanDisk adapters are pretty reliable. It was probably because you used the crappy R4 one before.
