What are you expecting? Homebrew made by a professional soccer player who goes scuba diving on the weekends? Of course nerds are makin the homebrew.
True.
And I have to add:
to be honest, there are MANY (not mainstream) anime which are WAY BETTER than the shit you can watch on Television.
Here in Germany, there are broadcasts in Television called "mitten im leben", "verdachtsfälle" or "Familien im Brennpunkt".
I prefer Anime over this shit.

A 50MB Homebrew for playing videos using the native video? Why it is so big? And can I use this with my own videos stored on SD Card? Or where it takes the videos from?

The videos are inside the htmldocs-manual-NCA. There's currently no way to read Videos from SDCard without any modifications (haven't even worked on that yet)

Just wanted to build a Application that contains a complete Season of an Anime I like to watch :P

But that's a beginning. So you are streaming them? Would be nice to have a full video player with custom sources (even if it's only a stream, it's no problem to setup an own http server for serving videos). ;)

nah, I'm not streaming them. The Application itself loads a index.html from this NCA. The NCA contains the html, some javascripts and css sheets.
When I "load" a video, it directly loads the MP4 from the nca.

The one I made for my "Anime Movie Player - Made in Abyss" contains 13 Videos (720p).
The Applications with the videos have a filesize of nearly 2GB.

I'll try to get access to the SDCard with this Application later.

So... A homebrew video player, but not with an nro version? This isn't event logical at all. I get it being a POC and all, but still can't get why no both versions.

If it's been made using the SDK, it's not an homebrew.
I'd still call it homebrew, but it's not really something I'd endorse... I'd be much happier with being able to create installable homebrew with a free and open-source tool set, and not illegally distributed, copyrighted code. Though, the whole premise of this application is to distribute copyrighted content, so whatever I guess.

What? This is literally a game with custom html files. That has not the slightest to do with homebrew.

Wikipedia said:
Homebrew is a term frequently applied to video games or other software produced by consumers to target proprietary hardware platforms (usually with hardware restrictions) that are not typically user-programmable or that use proprietary storage methods. This can include games developed with official development kits, such as Net Yaroze, Linux for PlayStation 2 or Microsoft XNA.

I think it's subjective to your opinion, but the generally agreed upon definition has no argument against it simply being an application that parses and displays html.

He didnt produce it. He modded a game. A existing game. Since when is modding homebrew?

it's a mod and as well as something I've produced.
I've made a Video Player out of it.
You can't say that this isn't true.
Doesnt make it homebrew. I dont deny that, but it's not homebrew.
Recreate it from scratch using libt, sdk or whatever and u earned that tag.

Ah, I missed that detail! Which game did he modify? I would in no way call that homebrew, that's just a "mod" or some shit.
