then how do i add the mods without installing?
You need to use the file structure of the game. So the dump isn't truly required.
To answer your question, just make the same file structure of the XV2 game and then install the mods into each folder and compile the cpk using cpktools and then load it into your Switch with whatever CFW you use to support LayeredFS, I use SX OS.

I don't know how you guys got mods made for PC working. I've been making mods from extracting the Switch version files and editing them myself because when I try the way of packing PC version files it just crashes. Maybe it's because I have the latest update and all DLC and therefore theres no empty dummy files and the mods I use are from files that wouldnt be compatible between the PC version and the Switch version particularly custom super souls and the all in shop patches. Anyway I've had to repack the now large data2 cpk and it just works. Just to be clear so there's no confusion if you're using the method where you pack data1 cpk with mods it won't work if you have the latest game update installed. And people doing that likely have SX OS and didn't bother with game updates.

hactool to extract the folders full of nca's, then hactool to use the biggest nca's to make a merged romfs dump with the base game + 1.09.1 game update data. Then all I really need is data2.cpk from it which I unpack with CriPakTools, edit with some of the PC version tools and hex edit if those PC version tools don't edit the files properly. Then once I am done editing, I follow the same steps on the first post of this thread for packing except I repack the entire data folder with all of the files from data2.cpk along with all the edited files I made into data2.cpk. This becomes a 600+ megabytes file which I place in the romfs folder for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 for LayeredFS.

There should be a batch script for getting a merged updated romfs with hactool from the base game and the game update. There is no way around having to extract the entire romfs this way but all you need afterward is that data2.cpk file which is supposed to be 600+ megabytes. Use mugenattack's xv2lib tools and the tools be eternity bundled with the XV2Installer pack for PC for editing the Switch version files. Not everything can be edited properly with the tools so expect to have to do some hex editing to get edits working correctly and use the various value data table references on animegamemods for determining what and where exactly to change values in a hex editor. You can even use the value data tables in the Cheat Engine file if you open it like a text file.

Oh yeah by the way: expect softlocks after the game saves after a quest ends. And Future in Ruins stage causing a game crash. Don't get discouraged from these bugs but be careful. And don't go online with these mods or unreleased or implausible save data changes.

Do you know how to find the file structure?
Anyway, which is the extension of "Extracted Copy of Xenoverse 2s RomFS"? A few weeks ago I try to convert an xci backup with xci2title converter and inside the titleID folder I got an exefs and a romfs folder. Now, with the last version, i can just create a romfs.bin file. Non of them works.

And the last question: what does "If using decr.bat replace --romfs with --romfsdir" means? I'm sorry but I can't speak English very well...

I've been trying to get some of these x2m mods working, glitchy right now but very promising. I've completely replaced the super sayain transformation animation and all 3 transformations with (in order) Legendary SSJ, SSG, SSGSS. Currently it's not working with the DLC clothing not sure why... I'd appreciate some help if you have any advice for this stuff.

I was trying to port Lazybone's Vegito by copying the files from the PC Version and it didn't work. Neither did the Shopaholic mod

"Move your Xenoverse mod tools to where you extracted your Xenoverse 2 ROMFS files(Data.cpk, etc, etc)"

How would I go about extracting the files from a digital download?
