Is this question asked recently and answered already, including the new knock offs? my priority is low cost and compatability, w/o a big effort to get it running. sorry... I am on a trip and havent checked everything completly.

There has been a recent influx of inexpensive chinese offerings on aliexpress and pals. Quality is unknown.

Domestic home-grown solutions include the M0 trinket/gemma based offerings, LEDE based offerings, and pals. I am quite satisified with my reprogrammed knock off "travel router".

thanks for your reply. i guess it needs a bit more time to see whats best. the travel router would be nice too, but since there are more urgent things in real life, I will play the waiting game patiently :)

This is going to be the bee's knees...

As of the last time I heard it will be $25(not sure if shipping is included in that price or not) but you're going to be able to keep a jig and injector in your game cart slot so you'll always have it.

Other than that there are other routes you could take if you can't/don't want to wait but to me the DragonInjector is the most unique and sensible.

That thing is quite epic, I must admit.

The Dragoninjector is a nice idea, but wont meet both of my criteria. The charging feature is not a must for me, so I guess it is not my first choice, as well. thx anyway for your feedback

Fair enough but I don't think $10 more than a Chinese made injector is considered expensive.

That being said, based on your criteria, your options are as followed:

The portable router(with or without battery):
-Cheap
-Largest payload injector, not as portable as others
-No soldering required
-Not the easiest to setup
-May not receive a compatible device
-Jig not included

The DIY payload injector:
-Cheap
-Portable
-Requires soldering
-High compatibility
-Jig not included

The $15 Chinese payload injector:
-Cheap
-No soldering required
-Quality may be subpar(not much info out there on quality yet)
-Portable
-Compatibility unkown(at least to me)
-Jig included

Rebug's external SwitchMe payload injector:
-Should be cheap
-Not sure on size but should be portable
-No soldering required
-Should have as high of compatibility as others.
-Not available yet
-Not sure if jig is included.

The SAMD Loader with CR2032 Holder - *Added
-Cheap
-No soldering required
-High compatibility
-Portable
-Needs USB micro B to USB C cable
-Replacable battery
-No jig included

Those are the cheap options, pick your poisin.

For me, the M0 trinket + a joycon modified with a push button has been my solution and it works great.

Why? You will only need it when you have to turn Switch off which is... probably never.
why not lol, mod takes 5 minutes and the joycon works exactly the same. Its a lunch joycon so its not like I've ruined a warranty and it still fits into all the joycon addons, but now I dont need to keep track of a jig when I want to launch different payloads or load on new xci files. Besides, its funner to mod things ;)

BL4 thanks for your comprehensive answer! this will help a lot.
No problem! I believe there is one I left out. I can edit my post once I get home from work so you can have even more options to choose from.

@ciaomao, I added another cheap payload injector to my post up above.

Just giving credit when do. I'm still building a Trinket M0 just because I already ordered parts before your build came out but I'm patiently awaiting the release of yours. It really is too cool that I'm going to have a injector and jig always on me.
