I am attempting to modify my 3.0.2 switch for the first time. Can this be used with RajNX to update the firmware or do I need to use it with SDFiles?

yes RajNX sets everything up perfectly if you just use the [CFW] option (take care to after that always use a PreventGCUpdate menu option if you want the gc chipset to stay on < 4.0.0 firmware)

Hello rajkosto, I successfully followed this guide and went from 1.0.0 to the latest 5.1.0. At the end it said, "You must use the PreventGCUpdate launch configuration Every boot if you want to prevent GC controller update" then I rebooted it and now its at a black screen so I assume its in rcm mode. How do I use that config? I was using your hekate_fspatches_v3.bin in tegra. Also I received my SX Pro dongle and have yet to use it and I want to install SX along with booting it with the PreventGCUpdate config but I have no idea how to. Sorry, Im a noob and any help is greatly appreciated.

just extract all of RajNX to microSD, overwriting any files, then use the provided payload instead of whatever hekate you found earlier.

There wouldn't be any issue if hekate_ipl.ini is not there or none of the hekate stuff? I saw something about ChoiDuJourNX using this file in some of the posts in thth thread and I just want to be careful. My plan is to install RajNX first on 3.0.2 then use ChoiDuJourNX to step up to 5.0.1. I also plan to copy the PreventGCUpdate to the first cfw option as well to prevent me fr accidently selecting the wrong one.

RajNX no longer uses hekate_ipl.ini and the ini it does come with always has a PreventGCUpdate version of each launch configuration, so use those.
ChoiDujourNX only writes hekate_ipl.ini (after backing up your existing one) just in case you dont already have such a profile in there.

Hi, I´m going to use ChoiDujourNX to update from 2.3.0 to 5.1.0 with the "Contents" folder of a friend and without burning fuses, I finished a NAND backup on 2.3.0 right now using RajNX and the next step is update using this homebrew, but, I have some questions:

1 -> To do the system update I need to enter on the "RajNX CFW - PreventGCUpdate" option or another one?
2 -> My intention is use only my original games after the update so... I need to use only the "Stock - PreventGCUpdate" option of RajNX, right?
3 -> ChoiDujourNX installs autorcm, if I use the "Stock - PreventGCUpdate" option (I´m supposing that this is the option that I need to use), can I put my console in standby mode without drain the battery? (I think the only way to drain the battery is not sending a payload when the console is on rcm mode but just in case)
4 -> If I want to use some homebrew I need to enter on CFW with PreventGCUpdate (I suppose), so I need to enter on airplane mode or it´s safe use it with an Internet connection?
5 -> I can´t use micro SD cards on exFAT without the update, using this to update to 5.1.0 will install that update too or I need to install it after that? (In case that I need to install the update after installing the 5.1.0 version, can I install it through the Nintendo´s notification?, if yes, I need to enter in some specific option or can I use the "Stock - PreventGCUpdate" option?)

Thanks in advance and sorry for my noob questions

Well, I don’t really know how I did it, and tbh it was a nasty headache, but I finally got 5.1.0 to install completely offline. I used a spare 4gb microSD card lying around. I used RajNX, xbins, TegraRcmGui and ChoiDujourNX. Switched back to my 200gb card with SXOS, all games requiring 5.1.0 now work. Thanks mate, you’re doing legendary work. Keep it up, I saw donate link on your site, I’m gonna donate to you next week when I get paid.

your bootloader should have warned you that no microSD is inserted, and if you wanted to proceed booting pure stock (which will update the gamecard controller but not burn fuses)

If you want exFAT, just pick the (exFAT) version of the firmware when installing it via ChoiDujourNX. Never use the official firmware updaters as they will remove AutoRCM and burn fuses on reboot.
Since your intention is to play your original games, do you mean they are cartridges ? To use cartridges on 4.0.0+ you unfortunately HAVE to let the cartridge controller update, so you would NOT be using PreventGCUpdate options.
However if all your original games are from the eShop, you must use, and keep using PreventGCUpdate launch options forever (stock or CFW).

I dont really understand, where to get the exfat updates from. Are they also bundled with the games? I thought they had to be downloaded

"Puyo Puyo Tetris/ 1-2 Switch (1.0.0) - would never recommend installing this one as no Switch made with 1.0.0 actually runs it (its a slightly different 1.0.0 with exFAT that bricks you)"

Well damn, I completely missed that when I updated to 5.1.0, guessing the only way back is to restore a nand dump? (which I forgot to do until I was on 5.1.0).

Guessing I can never get back to 1.0.0 at this point? @rajkosto

Huh ? exFAT for 1.0.0 does not exist.
It does for any firmware 2.0.0 and up.
I just pulled that info from the OP and I just flashed 1.0.0 with the exFAT option enabled, now soft bricked, currently restoring nand.

Will 1.0.0 work fine without the exFAT option selected?

Yes i mentioned that 1.0.0 exFAT doesn't exist, and thus bricks. Normal one works but obviously you have to system initialize to downgrade that far back.

I don't recommend using cartridge 1.0.0 anyway because its a different firmware than shipped 1.0.0, and one that no console has ever had installed before i made ChoiDujourNX.
The shipped 1.0.0 is a better choice (and doesnt even pretend to have exFAT), you can get it from the place that has all the firmwares.
Why do you want to run 1.0.0 ? It can only play a few cartridge games, OS is incomplete for anything else

Ok I will grab a version from the getting place.

Just testing some stuff, I don't intend to stay on 1.0.0.

Did anyone of you who was already on 5.1 succeed in installing only the exFat driver?
Everytime I put in my 5.1.0 folder (with which I updated back then following raj's long guide) and hit exFat it starts some scanning and tells me "205/207 - no meta found for nca ..." something like that.
Is my 5.1.0 folder incomplete?
