If you want to update the 3DS, first update to B9S/Luma3DS since RX breaks on newer firmwares, then you can simply update to 11.8Still didn't answered about how to go online with a 11.1 cfw, how to update or anything like thaat. please, be helpful

So I'm confused. I use tikshop, is that safe to use still at this time and/or after Nintendo update their servers? As far as I understand, previously installed games are safe and fbi installed games are safe, but freeshop games are not anymore. Correct me if I'm wrong ok? Thanks!
No, anything that has to do with tickets and the eshop will get you banned, the way network install manager is implemented in 11.8.
Yes, just stick to downloading Cia format on computer and install through FBI, on 11.8 the network install manager sent an encrypted app tickets list to nintendo.
The thing is it is not implemented in 11.7, I have nnid linked to my hacked 3ds and I am not ban as far as I know, but there have been report of people being ban for installing game through freeshop on 11.8
But if you don't use freeshop anymore, it's safe? Installing causes the data to be sent so if I don't install except by fbi anymore, just update?
any information if we can use the e-shop to legally download with this update? or we can get banned for doing that too?
I have to admit, I don't know the nitty gritty details of how all of this works, but if I had to guess, staying on 11.7 or lower would NOT help with preventing bans. That's because the eShop requires updating as soon as a new firmware comes out, and since with this new update the servers except to receive the tickets too, gettng a download request without the tickets would be impossible with the eShop, and it would definitely raise a few eyebrows

If you use the eShop to download legitimately bought games (or free stuff), then I don't see how you could get banned

it doesn't prevent it, Nintendo will still ban people but it is a lot higher chance in 11.8
Were they banned from installing through FreeShop, or were they banned from playing a new game online that they installed from FreeShop, that wasn't released, essentially revealing their piracy to Nintendo?
