I've made a few posts in the Teconmoon injector thread, but not a lot of help.

Simply put, I cannot get gamecube games to run on my CBHC Wii U. Putting all files onto a 2TB external USB hard drive (wth the Y cable)

I have watched countless videos about the injector on youtube. Followed all instructions in getting the injectable files from the ISO (loaded Nintendont onto my SD card via Teconmoon). Then I try to inject to the USB drive.

Out of dozens and dozens of tries, it has successfully injected TWO (2) games.

Usually, it says something like "USB Hard Drive not found" or some other error. It just never works.

What can I try?

Is it possible that my "install" folder on the SD card is corrupted? I've tried deleting teconmoon and reloading it. Never works.

What info do you need to help me??? Only reason I loaded CBHC was to play my old gamecube games.

When you say your hard drive is plugged into your Wii U with a Y-cable, are both parts going to the Wii U? If so, you might need to run one of them to a dedicated power source. That really sounds like your issue here.

Otherwise, I'd backup your SD card and then test it with h2testw. Running the test WILL reformat your SD card and you will lose everything unless you backed it up. But it still sounds like my first thought.

Yes both ends are going into the Wii U. I might agree with you, but I have put backups that I got on USB Helper (some NES, SNES, N64, and one Wii U game) onto the USB via WUP Installer GX2 with zero problems. It reads the games fine. I also managed to get two gamecube games to work that I used with Teconmoon injector. But nothing else that I made from Teconmoon injector has worked!

Makes me think that something is wrong with Teconmoon injector, or maybe how i"m doing it. I followed the instructions to a "T". Other people seem to have no problem with it.

Something is really off.. I made 68 GameCube Injects.. Using the same tool...?... Have you tried making some using USB helper.. The menu icon & splash screen looks much nicer... & I didn't use the y cable my HD just worked.. But I guess some portable hard drives are different of course...

You can make Gamecube injects on USB Helper? Are you talking about the gamecube games that are available on it? If so, no I have not (for some reason it requires the computer to have java for only the gamecube games, which is sketchy). But the other NES, SNES games I got on USB Helper (these did not require java?) loaded fine.

I'm not even kidding, the main reason I put CBHC on this thing was to play gamecube games. This sucks!

Okay so this may sound totally bonkers but which port is the data part of the USB Y cable plugged into?

On my Wii U, I get constant USB errors in Wii VC and after longer periods of play in Wii U titles if the data cable isn't plugged into either the top port on the back, or the right port on the front.

Just try messing around with which ports the cables are plugged into, you might be surprised like I was and find that it entirely changed everything.

No I'm not saying that you have to launch from vWii at all... but it is a suggestion.. As at least you'll see if Nintendont is working well... But if the inject is working fine... You just launch it from the wii U menu.... So I'd try both.. Maybe try vWii & load a game from your SD CARD... & also I would grab Nintendont from USB helper... As that one worked better for me than.. The one I grabbed from elsewhere...

No you do not need to launch from vwii System Menu.

Gamecube games require additional setup. As they cannot run directly from wii u nor vwii os.

The game runs on a program called nintendont which must be on a sd card inserted into the wii u.

https://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendont.349258/

Install

1. Create a Nintendont folder in your device's /apps/ folder (ex. SD:/apps/Nintendont)
2. Download the meta.xml file and place it in the Nintendont folder.
Right-click this link and select "Save link's target as..." (or if you display the target's text in your internet browser, choose : File > save as)
3. Download the loader.dol, rename it to boot.dol and place it in the Nintendont folder.

You now should have :
/apps/Nintendont/boot.dol
/apps/Nintendont/meta.xml

Congratulation, you completed the installation!

So I tried using USB Helper to “build” gamecube injects. Tried several, and ALL of them worked when I injected them via WUP Installer GX2 to my Wii U USB drive!! Worked fine.

Question, can USB Helper make gamecube injects that are not on its list of gamecube games? There are a bunch that I own (like 1080, Waverace, etc) that are not on the USB Helper search list, that I would like to add to my USB Drive. Or can you only use Teconmoon injector for those titles?

That said, it is obvious that either my PC or my Wii U has a problem with Teconmoon injector injects. WTF can I do to get these other gamecube games injected to my Wii U?

You completely and utterly refused to try when I attempted to help you the first time, so good luck getting help the second time.

Uh, thanks for your help man. I truly appreciate it. And yes, both parts of the Y cable were going to the Wii U, so its not that. Also, i have had zero issues injecting anything except for Teconmoon stuff. But I've had 2 out of 30-ish Teconmoon that I was able to properly inject. Does this help?

My hard drive also has a Y cable with both ends going into the Wii U. The error message you gave, is a common error message for a hard drive not getting enough power to keep it going. Hence my recommendation.

As for Teconmoon, I have made quite a few injects with it and it never failed me. This was with much earlier versions of the script, and now. I have never used Wii U USB Helper to make GameCube injects, because I like the ability to modify settings during the process.

If you are failing with Teconmoon, the first recommendation is to look at your GameCube files themselves. Don't used trimmed roms, use the full disc. If you made an inject that failed, but know someone who made one that works, ask for their MD5 for their gamecube game. Then check yours. If it's not the same, the problem is with your source files (gamecube games).

Aside from that, there could be so many possibilities, that's it's not worth it to list them all. I've helped out troubleshooting in the Teconmoon thread a few times before. It could be anything from .NET packages to a dying hard drive, bad RAM corrupting the writing, a bad USB port, etc. I'd recommend carefully reading my second and third paragraph, and going from there.
