Are there any homebrew apps for Gamecube Emulator, or would I need to do something else? I currently use SX OS.

you can copy the files from your sd card and then run lakka on it but i would recommend to get a second sd card for this
But GC on lakka isnt really playable is it? maybe is someone were to port the android version to the switch it would be a nice start.

Sure but does it run well enough to compare with the android version of Dolphin running on the Nvidia Shield? Somehow I doubt it. Many libretro cores are not optimized that well.
Just compare the Retroarch SNES9X cores with PSNES (Also based on SNES9X) you'll see what I meen.
