Good to hear! Unfortunately there is no web interface so that's why it's not working. You could always try to fit it on there yourself by cutting away features you don't use.

I think the only other thing that really needs to be changed is the LED settings.

Mhh, then you are obviously right. It just sounded too similar. I just rechecked, on my 3G Wi-Fi Router I don't see any event or log (in dmesg) when I plug a USB stick (and no error at all). So this indeed looks different. I have now also checked with a self powering harddisk and it does not see this device either. So the only device working is the switch! I currently can't check (due to lack of a switch atm) the events logged with a switch plugged, but any other device is not recognized in the system.

Strange devices. I ordered a second one from china. When it arrives I am very curious how this behaves...

An Update to my Dongle: As you remember no USB-Stick or self powered harddisk is recognized. No trace from plugin in "dmesg". The only working device is the switch. I have now my switch back.

When plugging the switch in RCM in I see in dmesg (and payload boots up):

[ 70.353047] usb 1-1: new high-speed USB device number 2 using ehci-platform

Plug out logs:

[ 72.881453] usb 1-1: USB disconnect, device number 2

turn it on and connect it to your pc then run WinSCP and choose SCP and enter ip=10.1.5.1 port=22 and user name=root and password is blank and save it then connect and you will be able to browse the dongle and go to /usr/share/fusee-nano to replace the payload.bin that way.
that's how i do it.

Considering this is a different target, it is possible that there is more NAND than found in the A5-V11 variants. If that is the case, he could just use opkg to install luci, and off he goes.

----EDIT

Yes. Looking at openwrt's page for it, it has 8mb of NAND, compared to the teensy tiny 4mb in the A5-V11. He should easily be able to install luci after-the-fact with opkg.

https://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/hame/mpr-a2

Just wget the luci package from the mainline lede/openwrt tree, and install it. He should have a web GUI after that.

I didn't flash hame a2 with telnet.
1.use the factory Web UI(lede-17.01.4-ramips-rt305x-mpr-a2-initramfs-kernel.bin)
2.use the OpenWrt Web UI (FGFlann's version sysupgrade Firmware)
This is easy~

I revived my router with an Arduino acting as a TTL converter using the official sysupdate Open WRT image. I ran into problems with an invalid magic number with the modified LEDE image and updating to the original LEDE image resulted in losing the LAN connection and the USB drive not showing under /dev so there was no way to change the payload. I ended up finding a different image that had the LAN intact and swapped out the payload for the SX loader. I still don't have USB drive access, but I have no need to change it anyways and might never even use it since my phone is faster. :D

Is there enough room on the image for micropython? It seems like the only way to load Linux/Lakka is with shofel2 which is a 2 stage process. Right now the launcher uses a python script to handle that. It would be cool to also be able to support booting Linux/Lakka.

The only way to know for sure is to build your own image and test it.
