Spyro: Reignited Trilogy hinted at for Switch once more, official site leaks existence of port

RfKnREn.png

If it wasn't enough of a hint for Nintendo UK to "accidentally" list the upcoming Spyro remaster for Switch earlier this year, perhaps Activision's official Spyro UK site showing a Switch option may be enough to convince most a port is definitely in the making. Interestingly, a PC version is also listed. With it officially releasing for PS4 and Xbox One on the 21st of September, what do you think is keeping Activision from formally announcing a handheld port? Could it be being saved for a future Nintendo Direct? Let us know your thoughts!

they could've fixed it. If you check the original picture, you'll see that the background of the dropdown list is unique all the way down, and not duplicated or cloned as it would have to be were it a photoshop job. They either messed with the website code to add those, or its real. Theres no way it's shopped.

we need some more companys to do some trilogys really

Rayman trilogy srs where is it usbisoft? stop re releasing rayman legends and give us the classic 3.

Gex trilogy srs why not? fun games and could use a revival.

Earthworm jim trilogy(yes i liked the 3d one too)

Ape Escape Trilogy. And maybe even a new game altogether.

I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't been more aggressive in re-releasing old games in HD. Other than Zelda have they taken any other N64 and Gamecube era games and re-released them in HD?

well luigi mansion is getting a demaster on 3ds with less resolution than even the gc had lol.

the rest yeah, they released some new way to play games on the wii but they all had the same resolution as the gc since wii wasnt hd so yeah only zelda games were hd remastered really.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Ubisoft (rayman) and Eidos/Square Enix (gex) could likely do a remake, but as far as Earthworm Jim goes, Interplay owned the license before selling it to an unknown purchaser in 2012 iirc. So I doubt that one will ever happen.
yeah no idea why ubsisoft hasnt remade the first 3 games imo, re releasing legends everywhere for no reason.

i prefer rayman 2 and 3 more imo.

This is mostly because of Activision's ownership of the IP and Sony's lack of desire to pay big money to keep them exclusive. They got timed exclusivity with Crash, but Spyro is getting a same day launch on Xbox, too. Persona is an Atlus game, and they usually keeps a very strict release for both SMT and Persona. SMT stays on Nintendo and Persona stats on PlayStation. (Not barring spinoffs, in which PQ was more Etrian than anything, and Etrian is on Nintendo)
Isn't Persona a spin-off of SMT?

For Rayman, YES. Rayman games are on so much platform, Rayman 2 is like everywhere, PS1, PS2, N64, PC, NDS, iOS...
Rayman 3 HD is not available on PS4 and it's a shame. Current gen could really use a quick port of this trilogy.

Earthworm Jim 1/2/3 are on Steam, they aged well (except 3D one imho). 1 even got HD version.

For Gex well I don't know... Haven't played it but for what I've seen it seems a bit clunky ? It would need a full remaster, not really worth it since it was less popular than Spyro/Crash... I think it'll stay "PSX memories" just like Croc...

We live in 2018 now, friend. A 12-year-old could do a photoshop like this. I believe you drastically underestimate the possibilities of image processing. Doing a photoshop like that and getting the background right is really not hard at all.

I think the Spyro website was built by modifying the Crash website since they look very similar. They probably forgot to change the options of the drop down list that was on the Crash Bandicoot website.

In order do that, you'd need to draw a unique background which would have to seamlessly connect to the existing one without cloning or duplicating and they'd have to perfectly match the resolution and noise of the original image. It CAN be done, but no person without absurd skill and time could do that this seamlessly. Especially not a 12-year old. The easier and more obvious fakery in this situation would be editing the element and making the box larger, then shopping the words into it. Now THAT is something a 12 year old could do.

Probably will be shown at a Nintendo Direct. But Spyro is amazing! Remember playing it on PS1. Handheld version would be perfect!

Wouldn't it be funny if pirating the trilogy had the same effect in Year of the Dragon where
if you played a burned copy you can't complete 100% and where one of the boss fights causes your save to be deleted?
That would be awesome and faithful to the original. As a pirate I wouldn't complain but laugh my ass off instead.
