'Metal Gear' 31st Anniversary Celebrated By Its Movie Director And Some New Art

mgs 31st.jpg

In case you haven't heard, the Metal Gear Solid movie is really happening and the director of Kong: Skull Island, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, will be directing the big screen adaptation. Vogt-Roberts and Kojima have been in cahoots lately with the two buddies meeting up several times and even sharing an interview during this year's E3. Moreover, Kojima gave Jordan his blessings to go ahead with the movie adaptation of his famous video game series.

Nevertheless, Vogt-Roberts has been very tight-lipped about the whole movie ever since he secured the role of director. This Friday 13 marks the 31st Metal Gear anniversary and Jordan took to his twitter account to start a celebration of the classic video game series.

Over the next 31 days Vogt-Roberts will pay tribute to the cult series with 31 pieces of never seen before artwork from ‘next-gan artists', artwork which, I quote, "are not meant to show what is or not in the forthcoming film". The first of the series of artwork has been used this post's banner. He also teases "some surprises along the way..."

Jordan Vogt-Roberts is undeniably a massive fan of the Metal Gear video game series and I am personally looking forward to his movie adaptation. Do you think he will be able to produce a faithful adaptation?

More on the 31st anniversary celebration of one of my personal video games, what is your favorite Metal Gear moment?

Metal Gear SOLID is not 31 years old! It came out in 1998, 20 years ago. Damn, that's long enough, no need to embellish. I'm guessing the original Metal gear might be 31, on the NES and/or MSx.
Indeed it's the 31st anniversary of the MSX's Metal Gear. I'll edit the title to reflect that!

make it happen now that kojima is gone konami.
this is the most unlikely string of words to have ever been uttered by a sentient being in the 11 dimensional multiverse
every time this will be spoken a supermassive black hole is spawned, words that can bend spacetime
demons are spawning out of the yellowstone volcano's core as we speak
advanced civilizations are probably coming to end our planet as soon as those words get captured by their radars as radio waves
this may also be the seal that kept cthulhu dormant, the ancients were actually more confident this encryption measure would be more effective than a randomized 800 letters combination in ancient forgotten language

It better have fucking David Hayter, Paul Eiding, Cam Clarke, Jennifer Hale, Christopher Randolph, Debbie Mae West, and Patric Zimmerman. Of course this also requires that the movie be CG and/or 2D animated, preferably 2D animation in the style of Yoji Shinkawa.

I completely forgot about that movie... I wish I could forget about it again... So I can stop waiting for it.

Since Kojima is a cinema nerd, I'm not really worried. But I don't know the director, and since Konami is still the ownership of the franchise (I think), I hope they won't interfere too much with Kojima's vision since all the drama.

im pretty sure it was kojimas fault we didnt get twin snakes remasters on metal gear hd collection really.

i dont care what people say i like the game and i like the original as well but for an actual remaster is much better to remaster twin snakes imo.Since original needs a full remake and cant be remastered alone.

i just want metal gear solid twin snakes remastered to ps4,xb1 or even switch, make it happen now that kojima is gone konami.
All that would be needed is to re-record some of Psycho Mantis' dialog to change the Gamecube game references to something else, and remove the yoshi and mario figures from one of the computer rooms.

I do! I watched the hell out of that movie! They even planned a sequel iirc but ran into licensing issues :( even if Hideo Kojima gave his approval to go ahead with Part 2
