I have tried everything in terms of cleaning and formatting the card, but it always freezes my Switch when loading Pokemon Quest. The XCI files load and play just fine, even the large ones. I have a fat32 card with the same exact setup on it and DevMenu loads perfect, installing and playing everything. Anyone else have the same problem and find a solution?

It works with exFAT. My SD card is formatted to it and dev menu and games install and play fine.

Make sure you dont have any corrupt files.

It works with exFAT. My SD card is formatted to it and dev menu and games install and play fine.

The same exact files are on my other card which is fat32 and it runs fine. My excat won’t even boot into Dev menu. I see some other people are having the same issues. I am curious what it is that we all seem to be doing the same of.
Make sure you dont have any corrupt files.

Works fine for me with exFAT as well. Do you have another card you could try? Or could you format the FAT32 card to exFAT and try that one? I suspect it could be a bad card or corrupt file like someone else said. And did you update your switch with the exfat update? Without that it won't read right.

I did all that already and it won’t work. I have seen several people say the same thing but there hasn’t been a solution yet. The card works and plays xci files from indies up to Wolfenstein, only freezes when trying to boot dev. Weird because I reformatted the same card to fat32 and it works fine, reformatted my other fat32 to exfat and it stopped working. Any chance you can PM me with what files you are running for Dev on exfat? Maybe it is something there I am missing.

I must have edited my post right after you hit quote. Did you ever install the exFAT update on your switch? SX OS may sort of read the card without it but you will run into stability issues.

Yup, exfat update, even used the Switch to format the card. Current firmware as well. I’m thinking that the files I’m using for devmenu must differ in some way than yours and it is not registering right with exfat.

sudo chflags -R arch /Volumes/SDVOLUME/

Change SDVOLUME to the name of your SD-Card!

On MacOS you have to do this cause an archive flag is set on exFAT SD Card Folders.

But u already fixed it with windows :P

Thanks, yea I tried this first with no luck. And now I’m realizing it is probably because the way I put it in had quotations in the command.
