Here's another eboot.bin edit made using @Kabuto_Kun's easy method for changing resolutions, which bumps the resolution from 720x408 to 960x544 without any graphical errors.

Screenshots comparisons [Before/After/etc.]:

Framerate Test between 408p (default and maximum settings) 544p (maximum settings): (Tests were performed with the latest version of the game, 1.02)

408p/Default- It's most often at 30FPS with ocassional dips to 28/29FPS, but Highland Cliffs especially gives it trouble, having pockets of 28FPS and dips in between a pack of cars. It can go as low as 25FPS.

408p/Maximum- Menus are locked at 60fps with stuttering caused by loading vehicle or course models. Races are locked at 30FPS.

544p/Maximum- Menus are at 60FPS with the same level of stutter caused by loading models, but the car preview is now in the mid 40s. I only found one dip to 29FPS across six courses, so it's otherwise locked at an evenly-paced 30FPS.

Steps to editing the eboot:

1) Open the game's eboot.bin in a Hex Editor (HxD, PSPad)
2) Search for the hex value "D002000098010000" (Should start at offset 20A464)
3) Replace the value with "C003000020020000"

You can read more about the process in the original thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/vitahacks/comments/637np7/problematic_psp_game_fixes_force_unleashed/

If you are trying to edit AN ENCRYPTED (Cart/PSN/NoNpDRM) VERSION, you will need to subtract 1000 to the offsets from a Maidump version. (Follow TheRadziu's tutorial under "Eboot modding and/or running 3.65+ games on 3.60 and 3.65". (Remember to add the first 8 bytes from the self_auth.bin to the files after they've been ran through make_fself.exe at offset 80)

Yes, it works with the DLC and the latest version, 1.02 if I recall right, which I put in the bottom left at the start of the video. I also show off some of the DLC in it, but I don't know if you saw the video or not

Tried out some more decrypted games with this. WRC4 has reference to native res but runs at sub-native and I couldn't find any more references to resolution in the eboot with a hex editor. No results with other games yet.

Also learned I'm not capable of doing the "hard" method so if anyone comes up with anything to make WRC4 run at native then I will be forever grateful lol...

Hi

There is no D002000098010000 value in eboot.bin but C003000020020000, might be the original patch has upgraded the resolution? I'm with PAL edition of the game.

I looked at the 1.02 EU update eboot and it has "D002000098010000" in it, so I don't know what to say. You could take a screen shot with Screenie and compare it with the posted screenshots to see if it's actually 544p

The only thing I can think of (unless Vitamin and Maidump don't result in the same eboot after decryption) is that your eboot's not decrypted, but if it really is already patched for 544p, could you send a screenshot of in-game using Screenie?

Sorry to bump an old thread but how do you get this to work?

If I open the eboot.bin (1.11mb) with any hex editor, then it only goes down to offset 0011B540 for me, and I cannot find anything to change.

I tried an already patched Eboot.bin from the video attached here (which strangely was 15mb) but that doesnt change anything either.

What am i missing? Im assuming its the eboot.bin in ux0:app/PCSE00001/eboot.bin that needs changing?

EDIT:

Just incase it matters. I downloaded the game from PKGj app

I have the same issue. I think this works only on decrypted eboot, aka on Maidump or Vitamin dump.

Is there a way yet to edit the eboots for nonpdrm games? Been trying for weeks now to do this to ridge racer but am getting no where.

If I open the game folder decrypted in vita shell then it's still encrypted when copied over to a pc eeither via USB or FTP.

I cannot do anything via maidump because it just constantly crashes on 3.65.

How do we new vita users use the resolution changes to various games if they are locked away to outdated methods that not longer work?

Sorry for not having updated this to talk about FAGDec. You can mod eboot NoNpDRM games with FAGDec https://github.com/TheRadziu/NoNpDR...odding-andor-running-365-games-on-360-and-365. ELF decrypt the eboot and sce_modules and you can search for and replace values. Remember to add the first 8 bytes from the self_auth.bin to the files after they've been ran through make_fself.exe at offset 80

Still cant do it lol

I managed to do the first part in decrypting, copying over to PC and then hex editing the eboot.bin file to the correct values, but I have no idea what to do after that part.
