So, I'm trying to install the Xenoblade 2 DLC. However, to access the Xenoblade 2 DLC, you need to claim them in a menu in the game. The thing is, even though the game tell me that I've bought the DLC, they don't show up in the menu for me to claim it. Any one knows what the problem is?
Are you on the latest firmware? There are also the possibilities that not all DLC are supported or the .NSP you used did not work.
Draxzelex since my screen didn’t turn on, ie no visible sign that it booted up , not even the battery symbol I can’t even confirm it was starting up , at the suggestion of a article I left it charging for more than two hours and tried to start it with charging cable Still attached. When that didn’t work I plugged back in the dongle tried to start with attached holding down the volume button and the power button, finally I tried using the gig then the dongle to start it. At no point did I see a single pixel light up. Which is why in desperation I mailed it to Nintendo hoping it was a hardware defect and they would repair it. To be honest I am hoping it was defective because in the month I had owned the switch I had made several attempts to dock it and play on my tv (prior to buying the X Pro) and never successfully connected to my tv, it played in handheld mode , but it didn’t even seem to charge while docked. I feel like in the last month I had spent more time watching YouTube videos about home brew and the Executor Pro than I spent playing my switch. Oh well first world problems SMH
Just pray that Nintendo doesn't patch your bootrom in the meantime which is possible now that its in their hands. Read-only means they cannot make any software modifications, but they can certainly make any necessary hardware modifications as long as it doesn't affect the base functionality of the console.
Hello
I don't udnerstand anything about all this stuff.
i want to buy a N.Switch to use it with SX Pro in order to play iso game/ I wanted to know :
- If i buy a new switch that is "patched" (new switch that is against hacking) can i install sx pro to play iso game ?
- If no' what do i have to check exactly when i buy the switch ? i read the post about the serial etc but i don't understand a word of what i have to check

Thank you
  1. You cannot as those new Switches will prevent the SX OS menu from ever showing up in the first place, Pro or otherwise
  2. If the console is Japanese, the serial number for patched Switches start with this XAJX004XXXXXXX. For Western Switches, the serial number starts with XAWX006
How do I remove the devmenu?
Can I just delete the folder and Pokémon quest will start normally?
Yes
I would say XAJ7004+, I think there are a few people here with XAJ4004+ that were able to run payloads
I haven't seen one yet that was able to run a payload with XAJ4004+. I know of one that wasn't. Regardless, this information is sparse and is still being actively collected. At this point, we do know that anything below XAJX004... are not patched. The proper serial number for patched units is not yet finalized and is based on preliminary findings.

I have been keeping tabs on Switch hacking and homebrew progress for a time and now finally seems the right time for me to consider tinkering with my Switch. However, while I am not necessarily technically inept I am extremely paranoid about misinterpreting technical instructions or implementing hacks. As such, I have a few questions that I hope some more emotionally stable and secure persons might be able to address:

To start: my primary interests in Switch hacking are backing up my Switch cartridge games to SD and playing off of that and running console emulators to play games from classic eras. While playing Switch games off of the SD card would overlap with piracy, I am not actually interested in pirating Switch games, so I am not looking for some method to install dumped Switch games from the Internet; any Switch game put on my SD card I will dump myself from cartridges that I own.

My Switch is on firmware 3.0.0. It has never been connected to the Internet.

My questions are as follows:

1) Is what I described above -- primarily dumping my Switch games to SD -- currently possible?

2) If the above is possible, how troublesome is actually launching dumped Switch games and Homebrew apps. Would I be able to launch things directly from the home menu immediately upon powering on the device, as I can do with the games that I dumped from disc on my Wii U, or will I have to launch something akin to Haxchii as I must do on the Wii U for homebrew apps like Retroarch?

3) What are the risks of bannination from Nintendo?

I apologize for asking idiotic, newbie questions but I get really nervous when messing around with console hacks are concerned.

yes there's a home brew app for dumping carts currently. I have used it personally and works perfectly. ( It's Good idea to zero out your certificates with an xci loader when you do)

As of now you will need SX OS software licence to actually play the backups as this is the only functional loader available and its easy to do just have to launch photo album tab once you've booted into their custom fw to play the backups

3) What are the risks of bannination from Nintendo?
This ranges from banned consoles/games and even accounts reports are all over the place.

Just hold volume up while injecting the payload. Yes you have to connect the pins

I was unaware that SX OS was a commercial product. I am not necessarily averse to ordering it but looking at the steps needed to make it work I would prefer something a little simpler so I am tempted to wait to see if anything else comes along (like Atmosphere).

As I noted: I am currently on firmware 3.0.0. I would like, in the near future, to play Xenoblade Chronicles 2 which I believe requires 4.1.0. I assume that I would still be able to use the SX OX firmware even if I upgrade the console to 4.1.0. Also, if I do go the SX OS route, is the SX Pro worthwhile, or should I just buy the software license and leave it at that?

Essentially, I am now stuck between jumping on an impulse buy of the SX Pro and waiting for Atmosphere. However, if I can just pop in my Xenoblade Chronicles 2 cart, use it to update to 4.1.0 and play it without ever putting my Switch on the Internet I will probably be content to wait longer for now.

anoher dumb question: do i have to remove sd card from console, connect it to pc and copy games to it? is there any other way?
cuz i just removed sd card and my switch said i have to turn off my console because i've removed sd card
basically do i need to connect my console to pc and inject payload everytime i want to remove sd card?

Considering you want something super easy, you would probably want to go the SX pro route. The big difference between the two is the SX Pro provides you the jig to get into RCM mode and a convenient means to send the payloader to the switch without having to do it through a PC. The software license alone will mean you need to make you own jig (I dont recommend you making your own unless your very meticulous and careful) or buy a 3d printed one and also use your PC with usbc to usba cord to send the payload through Tegrarcmsmash. It might sound overwhelming and difficult at first but no worries theres tons of forums and information on this site to help you along, so your in the right place to start.:grog:Don't sweat it either way is easy peasy. Its more of a convenience with Pro vs non Pro.

I actually answered my own question when looking at one vendor's product description for the SX OS license, as they noted that it really is for advanced users and that the SX Pro is the "easy" option. Thus, if I want to go that route I will go with the SX Pro.

However, I am now still stuck between impulse buying that and waiting to see what Atmosphere offers.

I assume that if I want to play Xenoblade Chronicles 2 then I can at least use the cart to upgrade to 4.1.0 and the system will remain hackable for either SX OS or Atmosphere when I do decide to jump in.

Yes.Theres an alternative. An app called FTPD but depending on the file size aint nobody got time for that.

so what happens when I accidentally connected pins 8,9, and 10 in foil method to access RCM? I'm scared that I might break something :(

Here is a list of what all of the pins do: https://reswitched.tech/hardware/joycon Of note, pin 9 won't lead to damage, but damaging pin 8 will render the Joy-Cons unable to connect with the console

dang, so I really have to be careful. So it will automatically break when I accidentally connected the 3 pins using foil?
I don't believe the damage will be permanent if no tin foil remains when you do eventually remove it. But this is the problem with tin foil because it can break apart very easily and be hard to recover. In case you are not aware, here is a video that does it safely as possible:

Regardless, exercise extreme caution when using tin foil to short the pins.

Pin 4 is the scary pin. It is the only one that can permanently damage and/or brick your console with physical electrical damage over the motherboard.

I bought my switch immediately put on airplane mod and also bought SX OS. Switch was on 4.0.1 and after Nand backing up I did the SX OS activation thing and put auto RCM. The problem is that I just noticed that my sd card is Fat32 and bigger games wont get on my sd card cuz its not exfat. But when I formatted it as Exfat my switch hadnt recognized it (asked for update).
What should I do?
Can i safely update eventho ive already put SX OS on my switch? Any way to still turn exfat without updating?

Thx in advance!
