I think this is very intersting for a lot User:
Auto RCM Activ (SX OS):
Shutting switch off on SX OS CFW (Lost over 20% of Battery in 4 hours)
Shutting off on SX OS Menu (Boot Menu))
lost 0% in 14 hours.
It would be nice some other Users try it Out and keep Feedback here.

I am using AutoRCM with SX OS 1.3 and it doesn't drain my battery a lot. Like 5% for the whole night.

I use the Auto rcm method of xecuter Sx os not to drain the battery much I do the following: I put the Switch in standby by pressing lightly the power button and I withdraw the Joycons, consumes 5% of the battery in 24 hours because with the Joycons in Off mode consumes about 70% in 24 hours.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this issue. I went from 100% to 50% in a few hours the other day. If I power off from the standard system menu, I imagine it must be booting back into RCM.

I'm going to try rebooting into hekate after regular use and then use that power-off option.

Its not clear to me, is there still confusion as to how to turn off the Switch? If so then here it is.

Turning off via standard method Hold Power then go to Power Options and selecting Power Off simply reboots into RCM if you have AutoRCM on. The console will still be on. This can be easily verified (and has been verified by me) by pluging in the Pro Dongle and seeing the light light up blue then green (aka its getting power) from the Switch. The Switch is using up power in this mode and will die within a day or two.

What you should be doing instead is Hold Power --> Power Options --> Restart then as soon as you see the spinny wheel (usually on the screen for about 1 second or less right before reboot) hold the Volume + button. Switch will reboot into SX OS Boot menu. Go to Options there and select Power Off.

You can then verify that the switch is truly off by plugging in the SX Pro Dongle and seeing that it doesnt get power (lights dont light up).

It sounds like a lot of extra work, but its maybe an additional 5 seconds. But it does mean that you need your Pro dongle every time you want to coldboot or turn it off completely.

Alternatively you can just always use sleep mode and not worry about it. Switch is meant to be in sleep mode if used regularly. I would only turn it off completely if I dont plan to use it for more than a week.

Dont ever plug in the switch to charge or on the dock unless its in sleep mode or its on (in other words do not put it on the dock if its off, you dont want to have issues due to being in RCM mode for a long time).

PS - Hopefully TX with future SX OS will implement a way to do this type of shutdown from within the SX OS and not just from the boot menu. I could see how this type of bug could be easily overlooked.

I don't use AutoRCM, I think it's dumb with all the issues people have been having. And the fact that it's unfixable sucks even harder, so I'll just keep using my jig for now.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

but why would you even turn off the console completely?
It's good to reboot the console once a week. I do every Sunday, my day off from work.

This method does not work on my autorcm console with a modded joycon. I end up having to inject the payload again by hand.

Well ofcourse you have to inject the payload, thats why I said you need the SX Pro for turning off as well as turning on the Switch. How else do you expect it to get through the RCM into the SX OS debug menu?

On a side note... its your choice, but I dont understand modding $80 (lets say $40 cuz you are only doing it to one of them, but would still cost you $80 to replace) joycon, versus buying a $5 dongle that is much easier to use and wont cause any issues.

So, until TX adds a functionality of turning off from within SX OS, you will have to have the dongle to BOTH turn on the switch and turn off (or alternatively you will need to inject the payload to both turn on and turn off). So I guess for people that chose the hard route of connecting to PC all the time or whatever other device you have a lot of extra steps, versus taking the 2 seconds to plug in the dongle for a few seconds. If you dont do this you are ruining your battery because you are leaving your switch on for 20+ hours in AutoRCM mode. You are much better off leaving it in sleep mode at that point.

What is the expected battery usage in sleep mode?
Because I had mine in sleep mode for a couple of hours and the battery went from 100% to 97%, I have the feeling it won't last more than two days or so like that (if that is normal).

My switch lasted about 12ish days in sleep mode? But that wad with airplane mode on. Having wifi on might influence that more.

If you upgraded without burning fuses your switch will have autorcm unstalled and that requires a payload to be sent whenever you want to boot. It most likely died. It boots into rcm mode randomly for some people.

Ok, now I need to find a way to revive it. What is the best for you ?

EDIT : After several attempts, my Switch finally power ON with the SX dongle and I only lost 40% this night. I don’t know why this happen.
