TX Releases SX OS v1.3

TX Releases Another Update To Their SX OS, with a big new feature: 'eShop NSP Support' :)
sxos13.jpg
TX does not seem to want to take a break, they have now pumped out yet another major update to their SX OS, check it out below:
We are back once again with an exciting update for SX OS. Let's skip the drama for now and jump straight to the list of new goodies:
  • Add LayeredFS support
Are you excited about any upcoming Game Mods for switch games? Well, we are! To accommodate this we have added what is commonly referred to as "LayeredFS" support. In short what this allows you to do is override specific files from a game with modified copies that are loaded from your microSD's (ex)FAT partition.
Place your custom game files under the following locations on the microSD root:
    - /sxos/titles/<titleid>/exefs/
    - /sxos/titles/<titleid>/romfs/
We can't wait to see what cool mods the community will come up with!
  • Add eShop NSP support
This adds support for installing and launching installed eShop NSP files. This is still rough around the edges and for advanced users only. To install NSP files you need a legitimate copy of the DevMenu, which can be launched currently via LayeredFS. We are still working on adding a custom and easy to use NSP installer to our own menu system. Stay tuned!
WARNING: We do not recommend playing online with installed eShop NSP games without a valid ticket, as this WILL lead to a console ban without a doubt.
  • Add low battery reconfiguration on bootup
Some users were having battery issues after playing around with Switch Linux custom payload. This fixes the "battery desync" issue every time you boot your switch. If you weren't use Switch Linux there's nothing to worry, otherwise; enjoy your penguins AND enjoy your horizon OS! :D
  • Hide OSX Temp files in game selection menu
If you were pestered by bogus entries in the game selection menu chances are high this is because you are using OSX (and Finder). We simply hide those files from the menu now. All cleaned up!
  • Removed eMMC password lock
It seems a perfectly safe and easily reversible hacker challenge we put in place for aspiring hackers has been blown out of proportion. We are sad to see so many false claims on the internet and to avoid any further false accusations and 'fake news' we decided to get rid of it. Namaste.
That's it for today! We'll be back soon. Team-Xecuter doesn't take a break. While others moan on social media we work day and night to bring you the best experience on Nintendo Switch.

Ok seems like a bug with v1.3 but Crash Trilogy on game loading screen just loops on loading now, it sits there. Once I hit home it does mount as a cart and works from there, but v1.2 it didnt loop just loaded fine.
Just tested, works fine for me.

It will work since people have been using eXhop and eXhop is the same thing that Rei made except that it doesn't download the Splatoon test demo by default.
It does? That's hilarious. At least Nintendo managed to secure online play. (They WILL ban mismatching private headers from other games, I just know it)

You misunderstood me. What I'm saying is the developers who painstakingly wrote code only to have it used for profit while being subsequently mocked and insulted by both TX and scene leechers are the ones who have every right to retire or just not release their hax anymore.

Homebrew is fee via SX OS FYI—no profit being made by it. Lots of people here appear to be misinformed or poorly educated. It’s a common thing here and other piracy friendly forums.

Even if they were selling it for profit we’d have no proof that they didn’t just write the same code on their own as unlikely as it sounds. Irrelevant anyhow since SX OS is free to use though. Everyone here is just speculating.

I can only agree that they should give credit if they actually did use other people’s work on homebrew related coding and until they say they did everyone is speculating. Doesn’t matter how many people look at it and say they did.

There’s no point in bickering about it whatsoever. If you don’t like that it’s possible that they stole code then simply don’t use their software. No reason to take the thread off topic. We don’t need or care for anyone’s opinions on pure speculation.

Common SX, just add emunand already. No way in hell I’m updating and losing the potential to have coldboot/warmboot.
? SX OS works on all firmwares lmao

Sooo. too many people too respond too. Not even gonna try.

I get it now. They took open source code, made profit, didn't give credit, and broke their license. Welp, I would cancel my preorder if I were not planning to do nefarious things with their mod chip.
Mod chip? Lmao

Not true.... Those hackers were indeed able to unbrick... Aside from that there claims it was a challenge sounds like a load of PR BS to me and even if it was indeed a challenge there claims it was perfectly safe is a load of crap.... Brick code can always accidently trigger. It may not be very likely but bugs can and do exist in all software and one of those bugs could easily trigger the code.... Effectively bricking the average user.
First of all, it wasnt brick code lmao. It never broke your device .lmao .also, it never ever triggered unless tampered with. Everyone is making up bullpoop

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

How do you figure? I mean I know what youre saying... What I'm saying is what makes you feel the hatred of people towards TX is unfounded? They stole code from other developer and sold it as there own for profit and this whole brick fiasco "hacker challenge" or otherwise is still a big load of crap.
They never stole anything and made profit . SX OS is FREE for homebrew. The Homebrew portion of SX OS was used from others, but that's FREE! Playing backups is NOT free because it's thier own code and they wanted a profit .Jesus

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

You are correct.

Honestly, I'm way more pissed about this than the brickcode.
No they didn't. Homebrew is free on SX OS .you don't need to pay . You pay for playing backups. That's not someone else code

Have they improved the Brickcode, too?
Is it even deadlier now?
I really love companies doing shit like that.
Makes the decision wether i want to buy one real easy for me.

I'll just leave this here for the users who are struggling to get to the first step of installing .NSPs. Follow this tutorial up to step 6 to properly set up DevMenu (links to the required files can and will not be shared here, even through PM): https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-get-a-custom-user-icon-using-devmenuapp.508369/
Thanks for this. Quite risky though and chances of getting banned are pretty high, looks like I'll be holding installing eshop games for a while.
