Assuming that tx will support hdds in the future, then yes. As long as you have the licence file on the root of your SD card/hdd, you'll be able to use it. The licence is tied to the console, not the cardwhen i use sx os on the sd can i also use it on a external hdd in the future ? or do i have to buy another sx os
Hard to quantify chances of being banned using SX OS online. Also, the purpose of EmuNAND is not to reduce the chances of being banned when going online with hacks. One of its uses is to go online safely without using hacks. If you go online with either NAND and that same NAND loaded hacks at any point, you risk both NANDs getting banned. Is there a high chance that we will be banned from online services if we use sx os?
Will emunand make the chances of getting banned lesser?
First off, this is scary how similar this is to my exact situation so I think I can provide the best rationale for this. I bought 2 Switches when Mario Odyssey was released. I updated one to 3.0 because that was the previous golden firmware while the other was updated freely as possible to play Odyssey and other games I wanted. After finished XC2, I never updated it any further and luckily for me it was on 4.1 which is the highest firmware so far to have a confirmed softmod. That being said, both consoles are no longer being updated anymore until the exploits or EmuNAND is released (Smash Ultimate will also make me update but that's not until December). So lets now move onto the actual advice portion.not a question, more of a seeking advice
I have a switch still on 2.0 with my nintendo account still linked, and currently getting a new one (a mario odyssey bundle so it should come with 3.x) for playing with SX OS
so I was thinking to keep my 2.0 switch for later when atmosphere released and use emunand once it available to play latest game and buy games from eshop, and as for the new switch I'm gonna update only to 4.1.0 as later FWs is not possible to have a coldboot hack
question is, is it worth it? because that means I even need to resort to hacks just to have exfat support on 4.1.0, while I can just update to 5.1.0 and could care less about that, although I don't plan to play games with FW >4.1.0 for now
#firstworldproblems
yeah that's what I actually meantIts going to be like loading a webpage to use hacks, but at least it doesn't involve the use of a jig and USB cable.
was thinking about this but after knowing that if by accident I boot to stock firmware (yes I know autoRCM is a thing), I'll risk burning the fuses. so noit might be best to update your firmware using the guide in the Tutorials subsection while keeping a NAND backup of your 4.1.
1) if you get banned, it will only affect your ability to use network features such as accessing the eshop and playing online. It will not prevent you from playing your games offline (backups or purchased).Hey, I have a couple of questions.
Here's the situation: I'd like to buy Just dance on the switch's eshop (2017 or 2018) and I want to buy the just dance unlimited subscription.
I'm planning on getting a SX Pro in the future.
My questions are:
1) If I, somehow, get banned for using SX Pro. Will I be able to play Just dance in OFW bought from e-shop?
2) Will I be able to play Just Dance Unlimited? does it work as an online feature that may block through a ban?
Any help would be appreciated.
You have to use a save editor to dump the saves onto the SD card then logically the same save editor you used to dump them in order to restore them into the new Switch. Save editors include EdiZon, Checkpoint, and Y'allAreNuts. Both Switches of course must be hacked since there is no other way to transfer saves until Nintendo implements their cloud service.Quick question? How does one use the microSD card to transfer saves between Switches, as I recently bought a second Switch (my previous one is for hacks) and I'd like to be able to play online with this new switch? Or do you have to update to do this, my original switch is on 5.0.2 and my new switch is on 5.1.0. (I think it's an original switch too so hacks can be installed on it in case.)
Since 5.1 doesn't burn any new fuses in comparison to 5.0.2, you can make a backup of your 5.0.2 NAND then update and restore your 5.0.2 should you encounter any reason to go back. As far as I know, there is no usefulness of 5.0.2 over 5.1 but I can be wrong.I plan on updating from 5.0.2 to 5.1.0. Is there anything that doesn't work on 5.1.0?
AutoRCM reduces the charge rate of the Switch in RCM. Its not that its not accepting charge, but its accepting charge a lot slower than usual. If you leave it on a charger long enough, it'll eventually be able to boot into RCM and from there you can either remove AutoRCM or boot the Switch into Horizon/CFW to charge it normally. If someone here could help me, that would be amazing. I didn't realize that I wouldn't be able to charge my switch if it died in AutoRCM - and it died. I left my switch on the wall charger (the one that gets plugged into the dock, right?) overnight and nothing has come of it. My switch doesn't show up when plugged into my computer either.
Help?
Console bans restrict the ability to play games online and access the eShop. That is because both of these services require accessing Nintendo's servers where they can restrict access. Local play doesn't involve connecting to Nintendo's servers so it will work. Now if Nintendo was really evil, they could restrict online play for banned consoles but that would seem like overkill. Haven't seen anybody test this (mostly because you need 2 Switches) but it should work in theory.
