TX’s Switch CFW SX is free for use with homebrew and has been so frombthe very beginning. Apparently you only have to buy a license if you want piracy. They say so on their homepage here https://team-xecuter.com/day-d-is-here-sx-os-out-in-the-wild/.

Quote from TX website:

If you did not purchase a SX Pro or a SX OS license, Team Xecuter still provides FREE homebrew support and loading from a non activated SX OS install. This is a small gift to all 'sceners' who are only interested in homebrew. After all, Team Xecuter also comes from the homebrew scene and after all these years, we are still glad to contribute now and then to this scene who brought us where we are now.

Given that it works with all Switch firmwares including 5.x, and, according to the above, is free for all legal use, I am surprised it is not even more popular and/or listed among the free solutions in any of the threads here.

I see it was news to me. So the all the interest in the other solutions is because of piracy? Or because SX is not open source? I have to admit I find the Switch scene very confusing compared to the Vita where every thing is clearly spelled out with tutorials etc.

The main reasons people don't like tx is that 1, the os enables piracy, and 2, there's bricking code

I don’t see any problems with either of those when using it as freeware, unless the bricking code has a bug and is triggered even without using a license. And enabling piracy doesn’t force anyone to use it.

Well thanks for clearing that up.

I guess I will just install freeware SX and that hbmenu, and try out the homebrew that way then. Seems to be the easiest solution so far.

We all knowed that is just that for homebrew alone, ctcaer hekate+atmosphere modules is a better option sience is more homebrew compatible and has layeredfs for mods.
And the homebrew part of SX OS appear to be stolen code from atmosphere, hb launcher and another thing that i dont remember, so is better to go to the original code if you want homebrew.

I think you are wrong there ...

the reason they hate it is because they want money to enable piracy and people don't want to pay ...
the thing about the bricking code only came much much after the hate started and as of now noone got bricked who did not try to crack the program

You mean I can install a working ctcaer hekate+atmosphere modules+hb launcher on my version 5 ofw Switch? I was under the impression that stuff doesn’t work yet.

So how do I install “ctcaer hekate+atmosphere modules“ with a hb launcher I was under the impression it doesn’t work yet and/or is unfinished? At least for 5.x.x?
Atmosphere is unifinished but is open source, and is not a single big thing, but a collection of modules that do different things, that means that anybody can copile the parts that are mostly functional, hekate CTCAER is used to load these modules of atmosphere. there is a tuto pinned on the tutorial section: https://gbatemp.net/threads/switch-hacking-101-how-to-launch-the-homebrew-menu-on-all-fw.504012/

Maybe you guys should think about it a little bit more.
The Switch ''scene" is like 4 weeks old, why do you expect Tutorials?
Why do compare it to devices which are hacked for like AGES.
In the beginning everything is unclear and most of you guys think its just an hour of work to put on an tutorial that explain EVERYTHING.
Everything has to be developed . Everything needs time.
Damn i really cant understand how so much people can be so .. naive.

Yea, but I'm not touching anything from a company that not only stole code, but will brick your console if you try to pirate the backup enabled version.
