Also for everyone claiming that LayeredFS is the reason everyone is banned, for every person banned having even touched LayeredFS, there are 2 people not banned for using it equally or even unsafer than said banned person. This is already plenty of evidence that despite it being unsafe, Nintendo does not ban equally or immediately. The only reason everyone else isn't banned at this point is purely luck and nothing else.

Sometimes I wondered if Nintendo uses an algorithm or AI to detect illegal activities online... or did they hired a monkey sitting in front of the screens, monitoring all online users? I tend to believe they hired a monkey because of the randomness and erratic banning behaviour.

Look at it another way. If you seemingly ban random people because you have the ability to ban anyone and everyone, it adds a sense of paranoia and fear because people cannot find any common thread between the bans. This leaves people to assume that any type of hack will cause you to get banned, reducing the amount of people who use hacks in fear of getting banned (or they buy a second Switch).

I think that any time now a banhammer will fall, and then we will know what triggers the banning. Until then, it's kinda random

Everyone considering this, beware that Nintendo can tell if you're using a cert from the wrong game. If they start looking at that, you'll still get banned.
That's kinda obvious, we still don't know for sure that it's 100% safe, no one got banned for cert alone atm but it can change any time.

ive had this theory about certs for awhile. Maybe the cert is only recognized to specific games ONLY when its registered/redeemed for nintendo gold points. So if you register zelda for your gold points that cert gets logged forever for zelda. however if it never gets claimed for useless gold points the cert doesnt get registered and it can be reused . get it?

so Nightstorm1000 did you use a cert from a game you redeemed for points?
x0x0 are you playing on a cert for a game you never registered?

It's possible, but there's no reason to believe that's the case.
I do have a couple games I haven't registered (they're US region so they can only be registered to an US account)

My Zelda has had its points redeemed from day 1 still not had a ban with card 1 titles yet even card 2 titles are still playing but like I say I have not been online with them yet I turn my wifi off but everything is still ok no ban, nothing. I have ordered a copy of Wolfenstein for a card 2 certificate to test out cause I'm sure this will work on card 2 titles. Has anyone used Wolfenstein 2 back up yet just wandered, it is in the wild has been for a few days now? I doubt it but some may off they are probably not bothered what the outcome is so why not. There will be some mad heads who have been online with it I bet!

waiting for my SX to come in the mail...
Can I set a cert per game? Like my mario cert for my mario backup, splatoon cert for my splatoon back, etc.

I plan on testing some things online with a wolfenstein cert for cart type 2, and skyrim for cart type 1, and going online with these certs briefly. I won't be posting about till for a few weeks though, games come monday but SX won't be here till mid july so have a bit of a wait till I can test it.

Played Wolfenstein 2 (no cert) while "online". Still no ban though.
That’s hardcore no cert at all or do you mean actually from the dump? Have you been playing Mario aces as well? Did you also turn that data sharing link off on your Nintendo account? I’ve red that’s possible now not sure if it makes any difference tbh with certificates. I’m even wandering now if these bans are even connected to using sx os or is it just a coincidence that the ban flag maybe coming from using previous cfw and the blame is being pushed too using the sx I’ve not had a sniff of any ban yet and my sd has only ever been used for sx files. I’ve also noticed the bans seem to be Americans no uk yet whether that’s a reason as well.
