Best thread title lol

Never encountered a freeze or crash in-game so far on SX, just got 2 errors when trying to boot some games (forgot the error code but I believe is a generic one that demands a system reboot), which is to be expected after some frequent use.

So I'm quite sure that your SD, dumps or switch itself is faulty.

Class 10 and UHS 1 are around the same speed, no worries there. MicroSD cards have a limited number of times you can write to them, if your card is old it might be reaching the end of life and be time to replace it.
UHS1 is different... Class 10 = V10 = U1... UHS1 can be U3 for example which means min of 30MBs write speed...

UHS1 is the bus speed like lets say Sata 2 vs Sata 3 or USB 2.0 vs USB 3.0... UHS1 I think its around max 100MBps

EDIT: And I'm totally pissed that it seems I can't ever get a M-SD card for the god damn Switch... Every M-SD I have are working fine, now the SanDisk Ultra A1 128GB I already have 2 faulty ones, don't even know if I will bother going for a 3rd potentially faulty M-SD card and a big hassle again or just stay the F* away from those Ultra A1. My SanDisk Extreme A1 32GB is working fine.

And I don't have money for the other brands here where the 128GB is like 70 to even a 100 or more euros and I won't buy online as I have nothing in my credit card and I only have a few money on my paypal for when a gaming promotion appears for PC...

It sounds like you have a failing or counterfeit SD card. Use the Panasonic SD Formatter, it should automatically select the best cluster size and try again. If it's still freezing you need to replace your SD card.

http://av.jpn.support.panasonic.com/support/global/cs/sd/download/index.html

How would you back up a SD that has already been used in a switch before reformatting, is it a case of just going to the root and then copying and pasting to the C:\ somewhere and then moving it back after?

According to amazon I have a "Samsung MB-MC256DAEU 256 GB EVO Plus MicroSDXC UHS-I Grade 3 Class 10 Memory Card", I don't know if its any good but i haven't had any crashes with it.

A good test to see if it is your SD card would be to play on OFW with no SD card inserted and see if you still have problems.

Try this OP:

- Format your SD card
- Place just ONE XCI file in the SD root (don't copy other files simultaneously)
- Place SX OS boot.dat on SD root
- Place license.dat on SD root
- Boot up Switch

See if that still freezes the one game you put on SD

This is exactly what i have done, i have also swapped to the 32gb evo, and no crash yet last night, ill get them to test more.

As for the 1 file thing, i always copy my files 1 at a time though.
