I'm fairly certain I heard audio coming from Lakka yesterday, but I know for a fact audio works in homebrew.

I could be mixing up my facts, didn't exactly get a good sleep since then (cat is in heat, woke me up 5 times during the night), but I'll have a video if there is indeed audio like I'm thinking.

Audio works inside Homebrew thats correct , but in lakka every emulator cant play audio because there is no drivers

but i dont get why people want to do all these nonsense on their console
all i want to do is cfw, emulation and backups (that i own) :P
See, the Switch is a pretty powerful handheld. It's uniquely convenient to use in many different configurations. We're innovating the console and turning it into many things it's capable of being, but simply... not. Be it Nintendo's lack of vision or simple fear of piracy, they've created a console in 2017 without any video playing capabilities aside from select clips added to the news app and settings menu. It is being rectified. I, personally, am very excited to be able to rely on my Switch for viewing things on my Plex server, finally retiring my old PS3.

EDIT: fun fact - I saw 28 and assumed it was June, not May. Truly, the mind only sees what it wants to. Excuse me.

I was no joke trying to make a video player yesterday. I stopped because FFmpeg sucks. Who knows, maybe i will actually finish just to see what happens.

FFmpeg works perfectly within lakka, we just need someone to make it dockable, natinusala has no plans for this sadly :(
(Someone on discord mentioned about docking to natinusala)

What I meant by FFmpeg sucks is that it sucks to code with in C++. There is very little information about coding with it online, so it sucks to use.

Jeez this thread is full of "You can't play videos on the switch because <put armchair expertise here>"

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

There is no HW Acc to run videos it would be rendered with the cpu of the switch and thats a bad idea
NOT true. Even if it was, that's doesn't mean it's impossible through other means.
