The purpose of a second Switch is only in case you are banned and want to play online games/use the eShop. For your 3.0 Switch, it may have access to a warmboot softmod that doesn't involve a jig and USB cable in the near future (possibly around Atmosphere's completion). However, all current Switch revisions will have access to hacks/CFW regardless of firmware. There is no persistent CFW since we lack the proper keys to sign it and we may never get our hands on them. The only way to make it seem persistent is to keep the console in sleep mode (which goes for either the softmod or the tethered hardmod). The decision to sell the second Switch is left up to you after reviewing these facts.Hello everyone!
Was just wondering if anyone could help. I currently have two Switches - one on 3.0.0 and one on the latest firmware.
I'm only really interested in homebrew and possibly SXOS if I'm being honest. Not fussed at all about online, never used it except to try a few games of Rocket League and probably wont again.
My question is: is there any reason for me to keep both Switches or should I sell one of them? As far as I can tell at the moment I can do most things on my most upto date Switch but when Atmosphere comes I wont have a consistent CFW? Which I can live without.
Is that right or am I missing something else major?
Cheers.
Not sure what exactly by your first question. There are unreleased softmods that work up to 4.1 which will most likely involve loading a webpage similar to the PS4 exploit based off of SciresM's display of Deja Vu. Also, we cannot install CFW or anything else onto the Switch without Nintendo's keys. These are fundamentally impossible to brute-force and extremely risky to steal. How long before we can boot into CFW without any special tricks? Any guesses?
I mean install CFW on the switch, no dongels or shotcutting etc required.
