Hello everyone!

Was just wondering if anyone could help. I currently have two Switches - one on 3.0.0 and one on the latest firmware.

I'm only really interested in homebrew and possibly SXOS if I'm being honest. Not fussed at all about online, never used it except to try a few games of Rocket League and probably wont again.

My question is: is there any reason for me to keep both Switches or should I sell one of them? As far as I can tell at the moment I can do most things on my most upto date Switch but when Atmosphere comes I wont have a consistent CFW? Which I can live without.

Is that right or am I missing something else major?

Cheers.
The purpose of a second Switch is only in case you are banned and want to play online games/use the eShop. For your 3.0 Switch, it may have access to a warmboot softmod that doesn't involve a jig and USB cable in the near future (possibly around Atmosphere's completion). However, all current Switch revisions will have access to hacks/CFW regardless of firmware. There is no persistent CFW since we lack the proper keys to sign it and we may never get our hands on them. The only way to make it seem persistent is to keep the console in sleep mode (which goes for either the softmod or the tethered hardmod). The decision to sell the second Switch is left up to you after reviewing these facts.

How long before we can boot into CFW without any special tricks? Any guesses?
I mean install CFW on the switch, no dongels or shotcutting etc required.
Not sure what exactly by your first question. There are unreleased softmods that work up to 4.1 which will most likely involve loading a webpage similar to the PS4 exploit based off of SciresM's display of Deja Vu. Also, we cannot install CFW or anything else onto the Switch without Nintendo's keys. These are fundamentally impossible to brute-force and extremely risky to steal.

Okay, so we'll never gonna have something like there is on 3DS or PS vita on the Switch? We will need to load some stuff manually each time to get CFW running?

At this moment, we do not have a means to achieve that nor is anyone close on the trail of achieving that. Remember that anything is possible so a new exploit can be discovered and released tomorrow, for example. It all depends on how devoted the hacking community is.

Hi guys. Are there any precautions I should take if I were to reformat my current SD card that already has a bunch of files and folders on it? It's ok to just copy all files (like the Nintendo folder, the boot files and other homebrew apps) from SD card to my PC, reformat my card, and simply copy the files back onto the card?
Thanks

It should be fine although I've seen some issues when it comes to Macs, SD cards, and the Switch. Assuming you have a Windows PC, you're good to go.

Is it possible to update my switch without burning e-fuses?
Yes, by following this guide: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...nofficially-without-burning-any-fuses.507461/

I'm sorry..thanks for help..

but i don't understand, it's still need paperclip for the process?or what things we must prepare for using layeredFS?
You're gonna need a paperclip or something to boot the Switch into RCM. See here for a full list of possible options: https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-ultimate-list-of-mods-to-enter-rcm.502145/
Then you will need a USB cable. Lastly, you need a device to send the payload, Hekate, with. If you're gonna use an Android device, it might need an OTG adapter (Google it in case you've never heard of it).

On a more personal note, LayeredFS runs a high risk of getting banned as well as not being easy to setup. If you accept these risks, then proceed to trying to use LayeredFS.

Hekate is in the first thread I linked you to under Download. It has everything you need. For all banning-related questions, you can consult my (one and only) thread here:

okay..now i understand little bit..that latest layeredFS kit work on FW 4.1.0?

Anyone know how can we turn off auto-sending error codes to Nintendo? (I vaguely remember turning such an option to on when I set up the NS). I got that unique error code 2345-0021 that's uniquely associated with consoles running on CFW several times, and I might be screwed by this if the code went directly to Nintendo, basically announcing myself as having jailbroken and thus giving them grounds to inspect me more...but better turn it off late now than never...

NEVER MIND, FOUND IT under system setting, the one before the last option.

Imagine if Nintendo actually started banning people because of this.

"Mother wrongly banned from Nintendo's online services due to spending hours in Album displaying pictures to family"
Thanks for the answer. I just want to play some emulators and make some private dump of my game cards with SX OS. nothing else

How would i revert my switch back to normal ? when i power my switch off and then power it on again it wont boot so i have to send a payload over of SX to get to the boot.
All i have done to my switch is.
Booted rcm mode. put the boot.dat on s card, then i sent over the SX payloader to see if it worked. i then have only ever went into the OFW option ive never set up auto rcm or booted into the CFW section.

So how would i put my switch back to normal so when i power it down it will power up as normal into the OFW?

So my shitty SX PRO is not arriving.... now can I buy just the SX PRO OS instantly somewhere and use it for now? And when the SX PRO Dongle arrives.. can I then use this one on the same switch? Or not possible?

@Erol You cannot get SX OS instantly, depending on the reseller, it takes couple of hours to few days to get your code.
If you get your dongle, it will work fine with seperate SX OS, you just have unactivated licence on your dongle, that you can use on another switch.
